Reviews of Monaghan's Pub

I recently discovered a hidden gem in Gwynn Oak, MD, located in Baltimore County. Little known to many, Monaghan's Pub is a fantastic spot to have a great time with friends while enjoying delicious food and drinks. Who says you have to venture into the city for a memorable experience? I had the pleasure of being invited to a meeting at Monaghan's Pub and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it's not just your typical neighborhood pub. They offer a variety of food and drinks, and even have an upstairs dining hall perfect for small meetings and events. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Monaghan's Pub for a delightful time!

My restaurant. I like this pub & restaurant, their food is good. The one thing that I wish they would do is "Update their Menu, if they have one, which I'm quite sure they do." Please do this. Totally Overrated. My friends and I wanted to go out for lunch and chose Monaghan's because everyone loves it in the office and the reviews were great. Unfortunately, our experience was just the opposite. When we arrived, we were unsure where the entrance was. Someone told us to use one of the side doors. As we came in, there was a smell I described as piss, one friend described as wet dog, and the other said a spicy rag. There were 2 waitresses talking and we were wondering if we should wait to be seated. Finally, I asked if we should seat ourselves and one of the waitresses said yes, in a less inviting tone. The service afterwards was mediocre and the food was even more so. It was completely overrated and we were definitely disappointed. The hot italian cold cut was mediocre and I had to pay for a side order of french fries to substitute for my chips instead of adding $1. My one friend's crab cake did not look appealing. The most she had to say was that it was flavorful. My other friend got the shrimp and chicken tenders basket, which she did not enjoy at all. The shrimp was "fishy" and the chicken tenders were not good at all. The last thing the other reviewers should worry about where it is located. It was just not the place for us.

Oh my goodness was all I kept saying...I never eat all of my food when I dine out, I ate all of mine, my lunchmate ate all of hers and "was looking for some more". I'm sorry we didn't meet the cooks, The Retired Divas meet at a different dive on the 3rd Wed of every month, I'm new to the group, everyone had a different dish, they were all "good" and affordable, the service was impeccable and organized to service a group of 9 women..:).....I can go on, I won't, I'll go back...I might take my Husband...Bon Apetit

Jimmy Rocks!!. Jimmy, the Chef Extrodinaire at Monaghan's, can not be beat for great food and a warm welcome! Yes, it is bar food, but soooo good. His seafood specials cannot be passed up either. I do have to disagree with the earlier post regarding the early closing. Monaghan's is open for dinner to about 8 PM. More than enough time for a perfectly cooked burger and a cold beer.

Lunch Time oasis. I stumbled on this bar about 5 years ago. What a find! The neighborhood is a little dicey, but this place is an oasis, lots of parking in the rear. Great food. Great specials. The crab cake is great. Fresh home made slaw and fries. The pulled pork is a winner. Good choice of beers on tap. Keno! They close kind of early so Lunch is your best bet.
