Chalet Basque

Stopped by here today for lunch and sat in bar. It was St Patrick’s day and they were decorating. I was warmly greeted by staff. I ordered a full lunch which included complete setup. A setup includes soup, beans, salsa, bread, salad. I ordered Orange Roughy for my entree, it comes with French fries. Everything was great, Orange Roughy was delicious, I will return very soon.

This place is the first spot I ever had basque food so my review will be biased. My dad took me here many years ago when I was a kid. No one in my family really likes basque food so I always made it a point to go with him and eat here because he loves it so much. Somewhere along the way of coming here often enough, I fell in love with it. The food is amazing. The set up they serve here is perfectly seasoned, the pickled tongue is great. The service is even better as they treat you like family here and always tend to you. The prices are good for the type of food they offer. The lighting might be a bit dark in here though, but the food amd service finds a way to brighten up the spot. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who wants to try out Basque food.

Bad, experience. Haven't eaten there for years. Used to be good. Not this time. The cloth dinner napkins smelled like disaffected. Couldn't use. Then I asked the server if we could get napkins . He brought us little bar drink napkins. He had absolutely no manners. Never said sorry, never called me or my date sir or mame. Just really not a nice guy. I think he was the bartender. Because they didn't have a regular server. My date had lamb . Came out raw inside . Sent it back . Came back raw again. Waiter never said sorry or anything. My date didn't even eat it ,but took home. BAD EXPERIENCE

The meal peaked with the soup.The bread was dry the beans were crunchy.The pickled tongue has not been in the pickling sauce long enough to be pickled it was more like salad dressing.The serving size on the french fries for two people was the same as a small french fry at a fast-food chain.I will not be going back.
