I've heard about and driven past this place with the lunch line for 6 months now and I finally found the time to test the line at Interstellar. It was no Franklin's wait time thank goodness. Got there at 10: 50am, they open at 11:00, and we were ordering by 11:08 so not terrible but if they added another scale, they could get people through that line way faster. One scale and one register will not do! That said, the service was incredible, they had a team ready to go for beginning of service and they were serious about it, it showed so thank you interstellar. I got the pork belly which was insanely worth it. My only request would be to put it under the broiler/salamander to finish to caramelize that sauce on top. The smoked gouda mac and cheese and tomato/cucumber salad were delicious and don't forget to ask for your free beans! Definitely coming back to try something new here.

Outstanding BBQ...brisket just as good as Franklin's without the ridiculous 2hr wait times. The ribs were delicious juicy and tender, just the right amount of seasoning. I was thrilled by the smoked lamb and the peach glazed pork belly and I enjoyed my sausage. The surprise for me was the pickles and onioñs...loads of flavor perfect compliment to perfectly cooked BBQ. I enjoyed every moment of my experience here. The staff was friendly, the ppl in line were cool. This is definitely a place I will visit again and again they do BBQ right! Thanks for a kicka$$ experience!

Everything here is like something from another galaxy! Best BBQ in Austin! The team is very friendly and attentive, the food is super-delicious. Really everything, brisket, beef sausage incl. dips, tomato-zucchini salad, onion and cucumber as well as the banana pudding, outstanding! Thank you very much for this great experience, this is Champions League!

This place is crazy good! Easily some of the best BBQ I have ever had. I got some brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, and banana pudding. It isn't cheap food, but it is SO worth the price. The ribs were nearly falling off the bone and so good. The brisket was moist and super flavorful. The Mac and cheese was heavenly, and a great portion for the size. I filled up on that and ended up having to take the pudding and left over Mac and cheese to go! I definitely understand why there was a line out the door. Was a long wait but definitely worth it!

There is always a line so just make it party of the experience. The food is great. Of course they have great brisket but they also probably have the best pork belly in Texas. I like the zucchini and tomato salad and the beans are like chili. They had lamb tacos this visit and they did not disappoint.

It is one of the best briskets in town. Ribs and jalapeño sausage were also good. Turkey was moist but not memorable. The sides are average, including the desserts. Stick with the brisket and ribs. We visited during the weekday and got there 20 minutes before opening. The line was already forming but not bad. However, when we left, there was a pretty long line. Yes, believe the hype. The brisket is that good.

This place is excellent!! I unfortunately arrived about an hour after opening, which resulted in about a 45min wait. But it was well worth the wait in line. The staff is great. Very friendly, very accommodating. When we got to the front to finally order, we didn't feel rushed at all, even with 50 hungry people behind us. We got the fatty brisket, pork belly, turkey, mac & cheese, and scalloped potatoes. Everything was awesome! I gotta say, the turkey is a sleeper hit, and the scalloped potatoes are the best I've had at a BBQ place...it even beats out most high dollar steak houses. One critique is that I wasn't a fan of either BBQ sauce...but the proteins are so good, you really don't need it. Such an awesome experience! We'll definitely be back to try other items!

I feel like my review is almost wasting my time. Why? I think everybody around here knows that Interstellar BBQ is a top notch, high quality serious BBQ establishment. I got there just before closing which is early 4pm. They only had pork ribs, jalapeño sausage and smoked DUCK...yep you read it correct...DUCK. I'm not a rib guy or duck guy, but I LOVE...sausage. Mild jalapeño and melted cheddar cheese sausage. It was tender and juicy and had great flavor. The potato salad was fantastic but it was not the mustard style of potato salad if that is what you enjoy. Their beans were the mild chili style versus the sweet baked beans just the way I prefer them. Their secret weapon is their pickled onions and homemade pickles! The pickles are completely unique...no really.. They are in that deliciously rebellious zone between sweet and dill. The guys were VERY proud of their food, but you could tell they also wanted to know what I thought of their food. I loved the pickles so much I bought a pint to bring home to put on my sandwiches.

This is absolutely some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Got a little bit of ribs, brisket, and their beef sausage. The brisket had a great amount of bark on it, but was also pretty tender and juicy. Great smoke flavor exactly what you want for Texas brisket. While eating one of their pork ribs meat literally fell off the bone. Ribs are using my go to for barbecue and these are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. I usually don’t get a lot of sides like barbecue there. Beans we’re not the type of beans that I’d like … they’re more of a ranch style instead of a barbecue style. So it’s a preference thing for me the reason I didn’t like them as much and I had their scallop potatoes, which were very good. Additionally they have an amazing mustard based barbecue sauce That has exact type of zing you want in a sauce. I will definitely return.

Possibly the best bbq in Austin and I’ve tried Franklin, Leroy & Lewis, and many others. Came here on a Friday for lunch and waited 30-40 minutes. We got the Brisket, Peach Tea Pork Belly, Pork Ribs, a chopped beef sandwich and chocolate pudding. Brisket is the best I’ve had in Austin. Flavorful, tender. Really, really delicious. 10/10 Pork Ribs were also probably the best I’ve had as well. Very flavorful and tender. 10/10 Peach Tea Pork Belly was definitely good but there was so much hype around this I was expecting something more special. This was a unique flavor though and I would order again. 8.5/10 Chopped Beef Sandwich was also delicious, the brisket was obviously great, and the toppings went really well with the brisket. 9/10 Chocolate pudding was tasty and unique but nothing special. 7/10
