The service and atmosphere of this restaurant are great. We tried the Tony's original steak and the sticky pork ribs. The steak was prepared exactly as ordered but was underwhelming overall with fried that could have been crispier and asparagus that was mushy. The pork dish was very good and something I would order again.

Mum and dad raved about the place in the good old days Has not changed a bit of pawn cocktails are massive The steak perfectly cooked But a you must book they turned away 7 people in the course of the meal Old fashioned hearty meals in days before P.C. was a thing

The seating was a little squashed but that made no difference to such great service and the food was on point. We had a little one with us and he was given pencils and paper to draw on while waiting for our food to arrive which considering the place was full didn't take too long at all. There were 3 steaks ordered and all 3 steaks were cooked to perfection from med-well to rare, plus I have to brag about the shrimp cocktail. Fat shrimps, gorgeous. The seafood platter was enough to share between 4 and loved the selection...oh and big ups with the seafood pasta...just yum.

A one great medium rare scotch fillet 💯 beautiful food. Lunch menu is half the price as dinner menu, I ordered from the dinner menu thinking I would get a bigger lunch but it was about the same as lunch menu but with a slightly bigger cut of the steak. So if you are going for the lunch order from the lunch menu. All the food me and my friends ordered were beautifully cooked..Service is good, place was nice..highly recommend it.

I recently dined at Tony's, the iconic steakhouse in Auckland CBD, which has been serving patrons for an impressive 60 years. The moment I walked in, I was captivated by the charming decor that exuded vintage elegance. The display of vintage items and old black-and-white pictures of the city added a wonderful nostalgic touch. The staff at Tony's were a delight - welcoming, kind, and exceptionally attentive throughout our meal. Their outstanding service was truly the highlight of our visit. While the drinks were undeniably delicious, it's worth noting that the servings were on the smaller side, which might not suit everyone's preferences. Our dining experience took a slight dip with the appetizer, as the calamari turned out to be a tad too salty for our liking, leaving us with half of it untouched. However, things quickly turned around when our T-bone steaks arrived. They were nothing short of amazing, boasting juiciness and just the right amount of char to elevate the flavor. Surprisingly, no sauce was necessary to enhance the taste. The potato and kumara mash were heavenly, and the brussel sprouts provided a tasty complement to the main dish. My partner's T-Bone was slightly drier than mine, but it was still an enjoyable dish overall. Dessert was a mixed bag. We opted for the Pavlova, which, while having a delicious meringue, fell slightly short in terms of fruit and presentation. It wasn't as visually appealing as we hoped for, but the meringue itself was undeniably scrumptious. In addition to the delightful dining experience, the affordable bill was a nice surprise. For the sumptuous feast we enjoyed, including two delectable T-Bone steaks and our delightful drinks, the total came to a mere $185. This outstanding value for money adds to the reasons why I would eagerly return to Tony's in the future. It's not every day you find such a combination of top-notch service, culinary excellence, and affordability in a restaurant, especially one with a rich history spanning 60 years.

There's a reason why they can claim to be the best steak in town. The beef is tender even if customers opt to have it cooked well-done, an admirable feat in its own. Better still, the classic British style interior adds to the aura of an excellent dining experience. The cheerful and attentive staff also contribute to a wonderful meal. Of course, no restaurant is perfect. With its wide selection of steak, it would be better if the restaurant provided photos of different dishes so customers can know what they're ordering. Also, they could probably rethink the Route 66 style decor under the table mats. Although American culture is indeed prominent in the world of steak, it seems to be a tad out of place in a restaurant like this, which prides itself with its vintage. Great restaurant overall nonetheless !

I really love the vibe here, remain the kind of decoration in the past. A lot to choose in the menu, they have a few selection for lunch set. Love the steak and lamb shank, well prepared and flavorful. The seafood chowder was not up to expectation, they put only mussels and a lot of crab meat stick in it, not even fish or prawn, a bit disappointed.

Their steak was good but the meat was slightly overdone for us. Their seafood chowder was the best we had in our life. A must order when you are at Tony’s.

Tried our luck without a booking on a busy Tuesday evening- we were lucky! The atmosphere entering the restaurant was bustling yet nostalgic and welcoming. My friend and I both ordered medium rare steaks- after being tempted by the pastas on offer I must say. It was cooked exactly to my liking, and the seasoned vegetables were delicious and rounded the meal well with the fries. Lemon and passion fruit cheesecake I chose for dessert looked impressive, but unfortunately lacked in any kind of flavour other than creamy. Other than that our evening at Tony’s was a good one. Our waitress was also friendly and charismatic. Will definitely be going back to Tony’s the next time I visit Auckland.

Came on a Wed for lunch, am glad I did my reservation, they were def busy. I managed to get a booth seat so it was really relaxed and quiet. Noticed the light bulbs were frosted to make it seemed like it was raining. See pic. Sf chowder was creamy, had bits of mussels, surimi and squid. Steak doneness was perfectly done according to my preference. Next time will definitely order from the main menu instead of from the lunch menu. But the lunch menu was truly economical.
