Bootsy Bellows Aspen

A nice restaurant-bar-lounge-nightclub in downtown Aspen. Quite large for Aspen standards, and could easily take in about 150+. Nice decor inside with a combo of modern and art deco. Feels quite updated and the place is still pretty new. Both tourists and sometimes locals flock to this place most nights out of the week. There's quite people there most nights and the atmosphere is good, but it rarely gets crowded beyond comfort. Mostly good DJs and good music makes for a usually a good time here. Service was sometimes slow though with sometimes taking a long time to get a drink. The whole bar was setup a bit awkward though. The prices can be a bit high, even for Aspen. Not locals friendly.

Worst security i have ever experienced in all of Aspen. They kick people out for no reason other than to show how macho they are. A large bouncer who goes by the name Nico sexually assaulted a female friend of mine. (He grabbed her ass). The place is way to over priced. Over all a bad experience. I do not recommend.

Hi! The music and service was great! Yet things got out of hand once i asked a bouncer why my friend was getting thrown out. Its one thing to be explained the situation, and its another being man handled and thrown out for no reason without being given an explanation what so ever. A question is never a reason why someone should be physically mistreated the way i was. I didn't even get a chance to pay for the drinks i had until being pulled up to the bar with my hands behind me back. Luckily the bartender noticed me and gave me back my debit card once i had a chance. Not to mention having to ask the coat tenders for my jacket still with my hands behind me back for no reason. I understand safety repercussions, but never have i ever experienced such terrible service from a bouncer or anyone in general at an establishment. As a local i am saddened at being treated in such a way in an Aspen establishment. Not to mention others being 'sold' on why i was being thrown out. It was an embarrassing moment that had me defending myself with other inebriated individuals that had nothing to do with why i was being "kicked" out in general. I was not belligerent or out of line. The miscommunication was taken out of true perspective and therefore it is out of my hands or anyone else's but those in charge of Bootsy Bellows. I hope no one else experiences what i did tonight at a place where one should be having a good time with friends or even strangers alike. Sad to say that i am writing this not even 2 hours after the place has shut down.
