Sauce

I gave this place another chance after experiencing a mishap with them in the past. The waiter was very nice. I did note though that every staff member I saw was either high school or college age.. very young. I wanted to play it safe because I've heard mixed things about this restaurant, so I ordered the chicken soup.. I received it fairly quickly, and ended up burning my mouth because it was PIPING HOT, despite my blowing on it. Also, it was less than bland. Like 0 flavor, and after adding a little salt and pepper (S&P shakers were sticky) it went from tasteless to very generic tasting.. like it came from a can, even though it's allegedly fresh. And the rice that was in it was like mush.. I didn't get full off of it either, as it was mostly broth. It was a complete waste of money. I left with a burnt mouth and very unsatisfied.

Food has been delicious consistently. Employees act as thought they’d rather be anywhere else, always with dismissive and frigid attitudes, and often with pick up orders there’s something missing. If you pull into the curbside pick up spot and call the number they have listed, it connects to an automated voice message where you cannot notify anyone you’re outside.

Any restaurant that has vegan and gluten-free options deserves four points, in my opinion. I couldn't, unfortunately, give it five. I was disappointed that all of the meals had grain in them. I had to order individual items a la carte. Then, when I got them, I was surprised at how small the containers were. The tofu and roasted veggies were good. The Miso soup tasted like celery, not me so, so I wasn't thrilled with that. Overall, I would eat there again but would prefer to find some place with full meals. Props to them, though, for using good ingredients and making whole foods! Oh, also, they have quite a few tables for outdoor dining. Look like six or seven...

First five star worthy restaurant I’ve been to in a while. Absolutely fantastic whole food vegan forward menu. Don’t worry carnivores there are even menu items for you. Relaxed and welcoming environment. Friendly and accommodating service. Counter ordered food but delivered to table service. Multiple taps of various kombucha flavors and even an impressive beer collection. A variety of items ready to go if in a hurry or wanting to eat out. Worth a visit for a wonder culinary journey.

Called around 5:30 to place an order because the online ordering wasn’t working. Was told to call I back in two hours so my order would be made fresh for me. Called back two hours later and they had decided to close early so they weren’t taking orders. So irritated with the runaround. I wish someone would have told me when I was on the phone just two hours ago. This is also not the first time the schedule online has not matched their true hours. Also just mention the portion sizes are extremely inconsistent, which sucks when you pay nearly $18 for a bowl. Will not be returning.

We love Sauce. We have come here probably 20-30 times in the last few years, and really have never had a problem with service, with the exception of an occasional flip of white rice for quinoa, for example. But to my mind part of the Ashland experience is letting go of some of that stress. Everything works out in the end. :) It's delicious food and the location is wonderful. Great for kids.
