Albero Pizza Bar

Staff are wonderful and friendly, the restaurant has a beautiful relaxed atmosphere and the wine list is great. The flavours and toppings on the pizza are great, but as a wood oven pizzeria I think they're really being let down by the quality of the crust. It is a bit sad, flat, and lacking in that wonderful stretchiness you get from well developed gluten. I'd almost assume that the crust was gluten free. Maybe it is? I didn't ask. I think we're spoilt here in Adelaide with some excellent pizzerias producing really great crusts. They're investing in the raw materials and more importantly, the proofing time, to create a really amazing result. There is so much good to say about this restaurant and they've been doing well enough for themselves, so who am I to judge? But I think a little focus on the basics (pun intended) could really add to the experience.

Immediately you enter you are greeted by a bull painted on the wall that seems to have been taken from Picasso's Guernica, looking hypnotically at the stone oven that floods the place with a pleasant smell of wood that whets your appetite! The pizza is absolutely wonderful and the attention is characterized by a friendly smile and excellent service!
