I don’t eat lamb, I hate it. But when we came here and ordered the mixed grill, I tried the lamb and it was DELICIOUS! I was so surprised because I never ever liked lamb. This was the ONLY lamb dish I like. I love everything else too! Chicken was good, bread and hummus was amazing as well. Waiters were also really accommodating. Would definitely go back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They definitely raised the standard of their food . I ordered white bean with meat , besara , mixed Mahashi and liver .. all delicious.<br/><br/>I was surprised that they sent syrup, crushed sugar and Nutella with the Zalabia . Really tasted very nice .

Went for Iftar this Ramadan. Food is good quality and the iftar offered a variety of typical Egyptian main dishes - all of which were quite good - except the fried brain which I didn’t try. <br/><br/>Lentil soup was good. Wasn’t too impressed with salads/starter dishes - have tried much better options from their à la carte menu in past. Dessert table was rather basic except for the umm Ali which was rather tasty (but had eaten so much already that wasn’t too bothered!).

I never missed one!<br/>Molokheya is one of the best, rise always fresh not crispy.<br/>Highly recommending their grills! Food is tasty, environment is very authentic, hall is big and they offer business lunch which is amazing. All is spoiled with badly behaving staff which pretend they don't see you, and sometimes long food serving during daytime. Just to bring menu takes 5 minutes, they are always busy with other clients.

What do I know about Egyptian Food? <br/>Pretty much nothing.<br/>I'm an expert when it comes to pizza and pasta, not mumbar or koshari!!!<br/>So I visited this location with a true Egyptian to check if this is really THE SPOT for Egyptian food! <br/><br/>Turns out it is!<br/><br/>Expect huge portions, extreme flavours, massive selection of dishes, authentic cuisine and polite but fast service.<br/><br/>I highly recommend "feteera" with basterma and mix cheese. It's to die for. Try it and let me know.<br/><br/>I've been eyeing the "kunafa with mango" since I set foot in the restaurant but sadly was too full to reach dessert point. I'll be back just for that!!

It was my first time trying the authentic Egyptian lunch at Dubai after my trip from Cairo . So I was missing the taste of their amazing taste. We ordered the duck with dirty rice, I love the taste, lentil soup and cow leg soup 🤔 I know!!! Then it follows the lamb Fettah. Food was good for the price, once you step in you feel the spirit of egypt. The staff is friendly and caring about the service. <br/><br/>Be prepared the restaurant has no private bathroom. <br/><br/>But I definitely recommend the restaurant. <br/><br/>Thumbs up for Egypt 🇪🇬

Worst customer service ever, we are regular customers to dar elkamar since it opened.but today they had a poet who is not suitable for a Ramadan night and we were playing cards and we were asked to leave the restaurant if we didn't stop playing cards and listen to the poet. Very sad and disgraceful to get this kind of service to a place we have been regular customers and they have lost very loyal customers. We could have complained this to the municipality as this is against the law

Whenever weather is fine, Dar El Kamar will be my favorite place, My daughter loves their playing area, she can enjoy her time on her own safely, Tasty food and good shisha with variety of egyptian cuisine, very busy during winter weekends as you can wait for half an hour to get a table but definitely worth it, parking is not a problem as they've their own parking plot

Unfortunately i was very disappointed with this place. I have only tried one item here (stuffed cabbage) so maybe the rest is ok but this was terrible. I was craving some cabbage mahshi for a long time to i decided to order it for here today. The food was delivered in a plastic container and didn't look appealing. The rolls themselves were not neat, they would not hold their shape and the filling would fall off as soon as you take one. Also the filling lacked a lot of the traditional flavour of stuffed cabbage. Very disappointed!!!

Terrible service, I'm never ordering from there again. After I spent time selecting the food items, placed the order and paid already, they called me to claim they don't deliver to my area (springs), even though on Zomato they specified that they do deliver. They told me on the phone that they actually deliver up until springs 6 and they can do springs 10, but not springs 8 and 9, I find this unbelievably ridiculous. Now, the money paid will be refunded in 7 days and I wasted an hour with them without any value. Terrible experience and never again.

We went for Iftar Buffet. The rows waiting were too long 😬 i started with the soup i took the lesan asfour soup it was nice just needed salt. My friend took the cream soup and didn't like it. Then i tried the salads and appetizers i liked the baba ghanooj and tihina didn't like the vine leaves. The sausage was tasteless and the bichamel macaroni was ok.<br/>The grilled kofta and meat was great delicious and soft. The turkey was already gone 😬 but i could taste a piece and it was so nice. The grilled ozzi was delicious and both rice were tasty.<br/>There was no mombar but there was semman don't like it so i didn't try. The mahshi was not nice the molokheya was rough needed to be more cut.<br/>The desserts and sweets were awfull only balah el sham and lokomades. My son says that there was jelly with bannana and he liked it 😊

What happened to Dar El Kamar??? a few years ago i would have given a rating of 4, but on my last visit on 20th May 2016, my friends and i found the place so disgusting and agreed never to come back again.<br/><br/>We were served an indoor table at the corner in the smoking area, and first thing we noticed was a very bad smell. We found some tissues on the floor as if someone cleaned after a vomit incident and kept the tissues behind one of those portable AC units. We asked the waiter to immediately find us another table.<br/><br/>We sat at another table and the chairs looked disgusting and stained. The ceiling was no better, it's been removed and you could see all the pipes and the AC vents, with drops of water hitting us occasionally. Awful scene with stained walls. Ventilation was also a problem.<br/><br/>We waited for 20 mins and no one cared to come and take our order. We had to call the first waiter we saw for the order.<br/><br/>Did not order food for the obvious reasons, just ordered shisha and tea, and we didn't stay for long.

This was the worst cafe experience I ever had. I do not know how to start and where to end. <br/><br/>The three bars I am giving is because of the attitude of one of the managers. Aside from that there nothing that happened well. <br/>I ordered tea, I got coffee. My wife ordered a late! Some friends were visiting UAE for a short business trip and as one of them lives in USA and hasn't visited Egypt for a while, we - my friends and myself - decided to go to Dar Elkamar. I've been there many times before as I sometimes like to eat some Egyptian food [ I am Egyptian btw :) ].<br/>The atmosphere is very good, staff is very friendly but the location is somehow hard to reach if you are not familiar with Dubai Marina/JBR area.<br/>I would recommend those who love Egyptian/Arabic food to visit this restaurant. My favourites there are: Mousakaa with Beshamel, Alexandrian liver, Mombar, stuffed vine leaves, mixed grill, sojok (sausage), and of course sugar cane juice. Don't miss the latter :)

If you are a Kosheri fan, then definitely head over to Dar ElKamar to sample their Kosheri- its amazing and so rich. I havent had Kosheri in a restaurant ever (only at Egyptian friends's places-homemade) so restaurant kosheri trial was a project.<br/>I ordered for Kosheri and asked for it to be with meat or chicken. I had the most bewildered look thrown my way by the generally sweet server. Like how DARE I ask to modify their prized kosheri. Anyhow, being a jolly sport, he brought me the regular kosheri with a plate of grilled chicken, hummus and Egyptian bread. <br/>Now when they say portions are huge I did not expect this. The Kosheri alone was shared by 3 of us and I still took half the chicken portion and HALF the Kosheri portion packed away home. The portions are a mountain mound of rice, lentils, macaroni and spaghetti. They give a lemon-vinegar drizzle in a bottle along with a spicy-as-hell sauce in a bottle that you can drizzle over your dish for the ultimate zing. Both dishes- the chicken and the kosheri, both were exquisite and perfectly accurate to what was expected.<br/>The restaurant was quite busy for Iftar, which probably why the service was a bit slow.<br/>The shisha was also very smooth and a good accompaniment to the merry-making and the happy Ramadan atmosphere.<br/>At AED 50 for my entire meal and shared shisha, I'd definitely go back for more!

I visited Dar Elkamar on a less happy occasion - a farewell party for a close and dear friend who decided to embark on a new adventure in Saudi Arabia.<br/>Dar Elkamar was chosen because 1. my friend is Egyptian, 2. the food is "the best Egyptian food in Dubai" and 3. it is spacious and can fit a group of 30.<br/><br/>To begin with, the service at Dar Elkamar was great, considering that coping with a group of 30 hungry diners is not an easy task. The waiters were very polite (never lost their cool, not even when they were asked ridiculous questions by vegans), smiling and super knowledgeable about the menu. <br/><br/>Our order covered more than 50% of the menu, I am convinced. From lentil soup to falafel to mix of mahashy, to koshari, fatta, fiteer, to liver, to molokheya and macaroni bechamel. The lentil soup was tasty and served pipping hot, although I would have preferred it a bit more creamy rather than so watery. As a famous fan of falafel, I enjoyed the falafel at Dar Elkamar a great deal - crispy, perfectly seasoned and a decent size for two bites. Highly recommended.<br/><br/>The mix of mashy (stuffed zucchini, capsicum, eggplant) was delicious and very hearty and filling, ideal for vegetarians or people fasting (who usually feel left out during these lavish dinners). My favorite was the stuffed capsicum, I like how the bitterness of it balances the rice and dill filling. <br/>At Dar Elkamar I tried koshari for the first time and, I must say, it is still my favorite in Dubai. The quantities of rice, macaroni and lentils were very well balanced and there was enough crispy onion and spicy tomato sauce for the whole bowl. Again, very hearty, very filling dish, and super tasty when mixed with the other two sauces provided on the table for it. The portion is generous too, so order it for sharing. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, during this dinner I was one of the fussy people fasting, so my dining options were quite limited. But judging from the appearance of the dishes, their smell and the fact that everything from the table was finished (not one single gram of food was left to waste), I can establish that the food was indeed very very good.<br/><br/>I am positive that I visit Dar Elkamar again and again, sometimes for delicious food, other times for a game of backgammon and a coffee on their spacious terrace.
