We visited sushi express cafe to try some Japanese food. I tried the chicken kastu bento and it tastes good. Staff are nice especially marlyn who assisted us and provided a good food recommendation. Place is also very accessible.

Food not fresh, potato was served sour, when informed to staff, chef came out and said it is normal. How is normal potato taste sour and smelly? Got told i cannot use zomato gold too. Bad experience, will not go back.

Have ordered delivery only, haven’t been to the restaurant. Fresh and big portion sushi, with good taste. Spicy tuna maki is quite spicy, so be careful if you can’t handle lots of spice. Will order again, fast delivery.

Tried sushi express on a weekend afternoon, overall an ok experience. We tried their yuzo shio ramen noodle soup - was flavor less, didn’t stand out. The sushi platter was ok - for some reason one of the maki roll with something similar barbecue sauce just didn’t cut it for my taste buds. Presentation was great, staff made every effort to please

If you want a relaxed and quick meal the Sushi Express Café is a good place to go. The staff will greet you with a smile, and will attend to your order in a flash. Maricel served me tonight, and I could not fault her service. <br/><br/>It's a little hard to comment on the menu overall, as I selected only basic Asian dishes which are very simple, while the menu itself is quite varied. I am a return customer who has eaten at their previous outlet at Two Seasons Hotel in Internet City. I am aware that Sushi Express has good takeaway /delivery facilities.

Ordered express addict & Dunaki rolls for delivery.. what can I say!? <br/>Sushi arrived hot, Tasted like curry, tiny pieces with smudged dressing on the container. I had to throw most of it away because I felt I’d get poisoned. It’s far off from being a good Japanese joint.<br/>I think they should be very careful with delivering raw food, it should come with ice packs, and not smudged. <br/>Picture taken for viewers...<br/>*note I haven’t tried their food at the restaurant, but the delivery was not delightful.

Shrimp tempura was excellent and I dont even like that kind of coating I prefer a honey flake and this is really good, crispy, and even though the coating looks like a lot it's not and it's tasty. The miso was hot but size was underwhelming especially for the price. But did include lots of seaweed and the cubes. I prefer less of those and more liquid. Salmon nigiri this time- salmon was fine, rice was hit and miss. Wasabi was ok, but only one small soy sauce for lot of nigiri. All in al was good. And will order again.

Delicious food! We had crunchy salmon mako, takiyaki and yakiniku udon, all were excellent. Staff were very accommodating especially Maricel. Good value for money. Will definitely come back.

I purchased a coupon in Groupon for 2 bento sets. But in the cafe they told me that not all bentos are available on the coupon - although the coupon says 42% discount on bento. In the end, we ordered Salmon Teriyaki bento and Ebi Fry bento - saving 27 dirhams (56 + 50 = 106-79 = 27drh - 25%). It was really tasty but we wanted others - those that are not available. Disappointed.

The food was great and tasted fresh. The ratio of the rice to the seafood was generous enough, but I would have loved to have more Philadelphia cheese in my rolls. Other than that, we really enjoyed it especially the shrimp tempura.<br/>🍽(50%) = 5<br/> <br/>I had especially requested for teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce because this is how we like to eat our sushi. For 4 orders of sushi rolls, they provided us with only one teriyaki sauce which was disheartening. The second time I ordered, I mentioned this and we were informed that they charge an additional AED 3 for one teriyaki sauce, which to me is unheard of — I've never been to a sushi restaurant that charged me for such a small request. I agreed to pay the extra cost and when we received it, it was nothing special and in fact tasted a bit like it was watered down or something.<br/>👫(20%) = 1<br/> <br/>Delivery time was not bad. It could be quicker, but the two times I ordered it arrived within the promised time of 1 hour max, so I cannot complain.<br/>⏳ (20%) = 3<br/> <br/>The price is reasonable and combined with the Entertainer offer, I think it is good value for my money. My only complain would be the extra charge for teriyaki sauce which I don't believe is necessary especially when restaurants of all price range are happy to provide it for free.<br/>💸(10%) = 3<br/> <br/>All in all I'm happy to order again and maybe even visit the restaurant to dine in, but I hope that they get rid of the extra charge for teriyaki sauce. I know AED 3 is not that expensive, but it's inconvenient to have to pay when I know I'd get the same sauce (or even better quality) for free at any other sushi restaurant.

We had a very disappointing experience ordering from sushi express cafe today. We ordered 8 piece California rolls as well as their Salmon Nigiri. The number of nigiri was not mentioned on their menu so we assumed their would be a decent amount, at least 5 considering it’s price of 20 dhs. But when our food came, we were shocked to find that it had only come with 2 pieces of nigiri, meaning we paid 10 dhs for 1 piece of sushi that can be described as mediocre at best. It’s easy to say that we won’t be ordering from here any time soon. Extremely disappointed with our experience.

Chicken was too fried and hard, as you can see in the picture curry is very less it was very thick. Disappointed with this order. <br/>Service - slow and staff not bothered attitude. It was a Filipino guy a little chubby he definitely wasn’t friendly.

We tried a delivery order from Sushi Express Cafe , it came in very good time. The food was really tasty and fresh. We tried the Yakitori Don, Gyo Don and Yasai Bento Box. <br/><br/>The Yasai Bento Box was very interesting, it was purely vegetarian with Veg Tempura, Seaweed Salad, Veg Fried Rice, a block of Tofu and Avocado+Lettuce+Cucumber Sushi. The sushi was done pretty well with the crunch and creamy textures of veges balanced with the rice. The tempura was crispy and pretty awesome, the appearance of avocado in the tempura scared us a bit but it was good :) The salad and the veg fried rice were pretty awesome compliments to the rest of the dish. Even though the tofu didn't have any seasoning etc of it's own, it was pretty plain but the rice and salad worked well. This was a very delicious bento box, one of the best we have seen here. <br/><br/>Both with YakiTori Don and Gyo Don the proteins were done awesomely, drowned in sauce covering the sticky rice. The portions i think were good reasonable portions. We won't call it generous but neither was it miserly. The best thing for us was that you weren't having white rice by the end of the dish. Till the very end the sauce and meat was enough to compliment the dish. <br/><br/>All in all we had a great experience and will definitely be trying them again.

We tried the voucher we purchased on groupon here and I must say that it's worth it. <br/>The place is small but that doesn't change the fact that the sushi here is nice. We ordered the Express Addict, I'm not a fan of raw salmon but when I tried it, I actually liked it. The creamy taste is what makes it good. The other sushi that we ordered is the Express Shrimp. I love it since I'm a fan of something barbecue taste and cheese. <br/><br/>The only thing I notice is that the AC is not cooling but they have outdoor seating that will be best when it's winter season.<br/><br/>I'll be back for sure.

Went there for dinner. Very slow and unprofessional service, food below average. We ordered miso soup, avocado/tuna tartar, and various sushi. Miso soup portion is very small compared to other sushi restaurants and doesn't taste as it should. Sushi weren't good. Tuna tartar was tasteless. Wouldn't come back.

Small restaurant located at cluster R where at the entrance have tim horton, not much of ventilation make me feel stuffy and whole body smelly after dine in. Their food quite nice especially the ramen quite authentic.

Eaten here about 5 times, best salmon sushi that I’ve had in dubai so far! Fairly small menu, but still the best. As with many restaurants on the lake level in JLT, they do not have AC, they only have those water air cooling machines that plug in. If you are wanting to have lots of sushi, order smaller quantities multiple times. And get the Groupon deals!<br/><br/>Sushi:<br/>1) Eel dragon - eel has a nice, non chewy, texture. <br/>2) Seared salmon - good flavor, though I prefer fresh salmon over seared salmon. <br/>3) Volcano - I enjoy this one, the hot sauce on top mixed with salmon and tempura - great mix. <br/>4) Express smoked - good flavor, but I’d recommend not having the teriyaki sauce on top. <br/>5) Express addict - favorite one of them all - large piece of fresh salmon on top, nice buttery salmon flavor!<br/>6) Crazy California - good classic California with lots of crab meat on top. <br/>7) Fujiyama - the tempura salmon and tempura avocado are delicious!<br/><br/>Will keep going back, as I live right above it :)

It's our first time to try Sushi Express in JLT. Very quiet place with a view of the lake. Our food server, Jessa greeted us with a smile and was helpful.<br/><br/>We ordered chicken karaage, Tokyo maki rolls (salmon, eel with mango and avocado) and Express shrimp maki rolls. The karaage was surprisingly very tender and one of the best karaage I ever had here in Dubai. I like the rolls too! They offer unique variety and combination of rolls. We will come back again for sure to try their rock and roll shrimp that Jessa had suggested and their donburi.

Just received my crazy california sushi, all sushis are crushing after i am dipping in sauce, terrible old sushi. I dont know when you prepared it, that it crushes every time i am trying to catch it

I got the Crazy Cali Roll and the Chicken Gyoza. The Gyoza meat inside was actually properly compressed so it didn't fall apart all over the place when you bit into it, which is rare here, though the sauce was a little weak. The Crazy Roll was good, and the Kani wasn't dry, but heads up: They top it with so much crab on the top (which normally isn't a bad thing) that it spills all over the outside of the little sushi tray they use for deliveries when you try to pick it up. Seems to be more of an "Order In House" sort of roll simply due to plating. There are a few more dishes from them that I'll try as well, and will update my review accordingly.

The interior is not fancy, just a small simple setup with a view.<br/><br/>We ordered the following:<br/>Chicken fried rice: (4.2/5) By far the best Chicken fried rice I have ever had in Dubai. AC was not working and they have those portable coolers (which you can see in their profile pictures, which means it wasn't a temporary malfunction). Flies inside the restaurant ending up on the food. Sushi rice was partly under cooked sticking in the teeth and partly overcooked (or old?). Staff totally demotivated resulting in bad customer service. And they even impose restrictions on the use of Entertainer vouchers.

The restaurant is so warm inside. And one of the servers informed me that they have not fixed their AC yet. Whoa. Considering it is summer. Anyway, it is so disappointing that the servers do not know the dishes in their menu. I was asking the server what’s the difference of the two dishes, and she just read the words written in the menu to me. <br/><br/>My food today is way way too salty. I ordered the Yakiniku Don. I couldn’t even finish it coz of the saltiness :( i hope the manager will look into this seriously and not just give an automated copy pasted reply.

This is our go to sushi spot and tonight I received the driest sushi I have ever had in my life. no taste, it just broke when dipped into the soya sauce. Sushi Express, Please sort this out. normally you are the best but tonight it was not good.. a waste of money in my opinion.

I found that the food was fresh and the presentation was stunning for each. Even though it’s an express cafe, the chefs took great care in making sure the dishes were up to a foodie’s standards.<br/><br/>The tuna ceviche was very appealing where the presentation of it was very precise and neat. The tuna were fresh and tasted just how it was supposed to. The lime on the tuna just made it more zesty and delicious.<br/><br/>The tuna tataki was amazing. The tuna was seared slightly so that only the outer part of the meat was cooked while the middle was rare.<br/><br/>The hamachi carpaccio was basically hamachi sashimi with a light sauce drizzled on top. The hamachi was sliced thinly so that was what made it different from the hamachi sashimi that is usually thicker.<br/><br/>The cheeky scallop roll was absolutely delicious. The roll was wrapped with rice and rice paper instead of being covered with sesame seeds so it actually made it more smooth to eat. The scallop was fresh and the avocado filling was a great touch.<br/><br/>I am so glad that I saved enough room for dessert as I wanted to try the different mochi flavours offered here. I tried all of the four flavours and my favourites were the green tea and strawberry. The mochi was cold, which is how they are supposed to be, and the filling was sweet and perfect.<br/><br/>This restaurant deserves a rating of 5/5.<br/><br/>I ordered the hamachi carpaccio for 39DHS, tuna ceviche for 31DHS, tuna tataki for 33DHS, cheeky scallop roll for 38DHS, and the mango, strawberry, matcha, and chocolate mochi for 10DHS each piece.<br/><br/>The pricing of the dishes served here was very well priced for a Japanese place and I found it cheap for the excellent quality of the dishes.<br/><br/>The service was wonderful with two staff members always around making sure that our dinner was doing perfectly. The beverages came out quickly and the same goes for the food.<br/><br/>The ambience of this restaurant was cozy and there was a mixture of both tables and booths. There were quite a few tables outside of the restaurant as well with a nice view of the Jumeirah Lakes Towers and the lake itself.

Salad Seaweed is very good (cold and fresh). Ordered 16 pieces of Sushi (crazy california & extreme Salmon) but pieces were not cold - a bit warm. I would go for a 3.5 rating - but not bad to order from.

We've ordered from here twice now and its a hit! They have a decent offer on groupon for 32 pieces (4 trays) for 99 aed plus delivered to you for an extra 10 aed. Lovely sushi, fresh, tasty and really good portions - lovely presentation too and delivered rapidly. Will definitely be ordering again. Jobs who works there takes orders by watsapp too! Top guy.

Being a Japanese, I underestimated this place. Thought it would be a fusion kind of Japanese (meaning not genuine) but when I tasted Marinated Don, my idea was proved to be wrong. It applies to Yuzu Shio Ramen as well. Inside atmosphere is also not too fancy thus is very cozy.

I wish I can rate it zero. I ordered sushi rolls, they were inconsistent and something in the rice hit my teeth. I guess they have no hygiene. When I asked them to change it, they brought me something different missing some ingredients. Definitely not going again.

So we rediscovered our addiction to sushi tonight @sushicafedubai. It’s been so long since we both had sushi, so we were really excited to come and try the food here! They have a daily fresh juice to choose from, today it was pineapple. We shared Tako Tako Salad (Fresh Octopus), Rock ‘N’ Roll Shrimp and Black Cod to start...... it was the first time I’ve tried Black Cod and it was delicious, cooked perfectly! The shrimps were the biggest I think I’ve ever seen. We then went for the Crunchy Chicken and Express Shrimp rolls! As you can see, each serving came with 8 big pieces! The sushi was fresh and tasty and we like that they feature a Month Special! March is the Cheeky Yellowtail Roll. They have an extensive selection of Noodles and Bento boxes to choose from too, lovely waitress Bobbie suggested we try their famous Chicken Paitan Ramen 👌🏼 We highly recommend this hearty noodle broth! The ambience of this place is really nice, and the first thing I noticed is that this restaurant also has a washroom (as opposed to most restaurants in JLT that don't).<br/><br/>They've got a great selection of sushis. I especially liked their volcano roll. We also had a mix platter of sushis which had sushis made form tuna, salmon, and more. Absolutely great discovery! The best sushi in Dubai finally! I wasn't expecting much since I ordered initially from Groupon, but the sushis and the bento boxes were on another level. Kudos to the staff for doing such a great job! Hicham and Lilia.
