Ya Hala Restaurant

This place……. All I have is one word to say…… AMAZING BATHROOM = CLEAN DINNING AREA: CLEAN KITCHEN = IM SURE ITS PRETTY DAMN CLEAN TOO! The entire staff and hospitality the warm comforting meal i devoured (with leftovers).. Seriously everything is amazing and this IS WHAT YONKERS NEEDED. Since this place has been around since 1995. I can finally see why it is still in business. I dined in last night (October 5th) because I was craving a burrito and I was celebrating a special occasion. I was walking home with my homie and I came across this beautiful place. I ordered the lamb special which was I believe a daily special, the presentation FLAWLESS, the tenderness!!! Crazy, everything was just flavorful! Now first remember this YONKERS has quite the reputation, but DO NOT LET IT STEER YOU AWAY FROM the locals! The locals delicacy. Take time! Give any new local restaurants a shot! The grill house staff are definitely putting a lot of love and professionalism into their business serving Westchester County for many years even through Yonkers crazy reputation! Do not let it fool you. This to me was a hidden gem or maybe I was living under a rock. Grill house… is amazing. I thank you for letting me dine in. I will be back for sure. Immediately. Please support the locals!

I ate at the Grill House for the first time today. The Atmosphere was clean, well kept and joyful. The service was great. The guy at the counter was very professional with a nice demeanor. He also had no trouble explaining my options to me. As for the food it was amazing! This was some of the best falafel I've had in NY. It was tasty crispy and had the right amount of Tahini sauce. I will definitely come back to this place again. The prices were just right.

My lart had the following Falafel- nice when straight out of the fryer. Doesn't have much flavor of it's so needs the sauce. Kebeeh- delicious. This is a nice dinner by itself. Comes with a salad. The meat inside is so juicy and flavorful. Yellow rice with lamb- delicious jasmine rice with fork tender lamb. Beautifully spiced but can be enhanced with the white and/or red sauce. Beef shawarma- good rice, and nicely spiced meat. Comes with a salad. Tastes good on pita bread but it is good on its own Grape leaves and kusa- very good. The stuffed squash tastes good. The grape leaves are very good. We had it with lamb this time, but the chicken is almost as good. Baba ghannoush- lovely with the pita bread for dipping. Leftovers are good for breakfast the next day. Pistachio Baklava- crispy layers with ground pistachio and a lightly sweet syrup

We normally go to Paterson for this cuisine but saw this on Google and decided to check it out. Great food solid portions and saved the toll of going to NJ. I would have probably went much sooner if it had a more traditional Arabic sounding name. Like al basha, al "fill in the blank" followed by grill house.
