Anokye Krom

This place was highly recommended by my co worker/friend however waited for over an hour for our to go meal. The rice was good but cold, the "chicken wings" were literally cut through the bone chicken legs, cold and dry. Although the sweet bananas were the only thing that was hot. The reviews state the staff being rude, did not experience that but for 2 meals that were cold, and the wait; $70 feels a bit much. Will not be going there again. I will stick with akra at the Worcester Market. Oh and I forgot to mention just a SPOON full of salad. I am not kidding either, like ONE bite of salad. Looking at other reviews, it wasn't the case. I didn't take a picture bc my phone died and I am writing the review the next day.

I am highly disappointed in this restaurant now. I was a native to Worcester before moving to Minnesota. I always ate at anokye cause they WAS the best. Minnesota doesn’t have any Ghanaian restaurants so anytime I come to visit Worcester, I always order here and than I would take some good back with me to Minnesota. On Friday (7/10/2020). I had just arrived in Worcester and decided to go to anokye. I ordered $40 worth of food. The cashier said 20 mins. I returned in 30 and STILL had to wait an additional 10 mins. That’s fine. I take the food home and only ate this food picture below all day. Okro and banku. This was at about 5 pm. The banku was soft and sticky. The Okro smelled and tasted burnt. The okro wasn’t properly cut to fit the stew. I managed to eat 3 bits of the banku and threw it away. I ate about half the okro stew with regular fufu. By 5 am...I had diarrhea. For about 24 hrs...I was ill. At first I didn’t suspect the food. But the next day (Saturday) after I ate it, my mom decide to eat some with the other food I ordered. She too experience the same thing I did along with my 6 yr old sister. When we asked fellow Ghanaians about banku and okro...they told us that the picture isn’t how it’s properly prepared. Some even said that anokye isn’t good. One even said that the banku was probably leftover and stale that was sold to me because it’s not suppose to be sticky. We threw everything we bought from anokye out. I’m so highly disappointed in them now. They have always been good but they have now lost a customer. During this virus...let’s be mindful of where we eat and what we serve to people.

I've ordered here multiple times. Quite a few times with a few friends and by myself. I noticed I'm treated so poorly when I show up by myself as opposed to with my friends. Other than that, the service has been rude and even standoffish. I shouldn't need to sit there for 30 minutes and be ignored. The food used to be great which is why I went back to give it a few other tries. It's gone downhill and I'm surprised with that service attitude they are still in business.
