Barricane Beach Cafe

Fantastic place to eat in all respects. Don’t go expecting Pattaks or shop bought paste curry, this is the real deal! Served from a small container ship by a family business set in a lovely bay. Remember to buy mango chutney to go with your fantastic food. The sometimes lengthy wait for your food is a testament to how good it is. I was reading some of the negative reviews on here and it’s clear these people don’t get out much and should stick to there fish and chips.

It's a bit of a hidden gem this one. If the weather is right you're in for a great sunset and if the sea is calm it's even better. We went there for the food but didn't expect it to have such an amazing setting. The curry and rice was great and finishing it off with a tub of local icecream what could be better, we had the tubs of salted caramel icecream = so tasty. There's parking on the roadside ( don't forget to pay ) and a short walk down to the beach. Well worth the trip. The beach is dog friendly but please keep them on their lead and pick up any dog waste to dispose of. You have to go there if you like your sunset photo opportunities.

Beautiful little beach. Rocky though and not much sand unless it’s shown at low tide. Haven’t ever been at low tide to see. Otherwise it’s all small rocks. Places to jump into the sea and rocks to climb up. Cafe on the beach which should be rated separately - does great food and can even served up to eat on the beach during summer months.

Fantastic authentic tasting curry !! What a place to eat it from too. Beautiful beach. We only recently found this after holidaying here for a number of years. No doubting we'll be back for more beach-days here with an evening curry (or daytime cafe food). Look out for tiny Cowrie shells on the upper beach while you sit. Closes for Winter (or extreme weather).
