Wolfe's Tavern

Excellent place to dine! I ordered the Grilled Bourbon Steak Tips, and it was very delectable. I absolutely enjoyed eating these tender steak tips dipped in a barbecue sauce and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The waitress was also very friendly, service was quick, and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere. I’d absolutely recommend dining here.

When here this past weekend with my son for dinner. I had the short ribs and he had the beef tips. The short ribs were very tender but did not have much taste. The sauce on them helped but they still seem to be under seasoned. On the beef tips, as the waitress was bringing us the plates she had to do a second look to see if there was actually any beef on the plate because it there was so little it seemed. Overall, I don’t think it was worth the amount that we ended up paying for it.

So sad to see this place go downhill. Had dinner tonight and the chowder was watered down and the portion was small….$12? NY strip ($39) was served cut up in strips and was dry and flavorless. I left feeling dirty as if I were robbed. Our server was excellent which is why I’m rating this 2 stars instead of 1. Won’t be back.

Went there to grab early dinner and drinks in middle of snow storm. Had great time. Music great bartenders and service were great. French onion soup was delicious. They have vast selection beer. This was something I asked bartender to make, something sweet with rum. It was delicious. Will definitely go back 😁

I am weary of reviewing restaurants as I am finding little good to say. I have eaten at Wolfe's Tavern several times over the past 30 or so years watching it reinvent itself. The effects of the pandemic on supply and staff have changed the dining out experience across the board. Taking that into account I would not recommend dining here. The french onion soup tasted like onions in hot water and I sent it away. Companions seafood linguini dish was tasteless and the seafood overcooked and rubbery. My pastrami sandwich was fine but the piece of hair on the plate was a turnoff. When I go out to dinner I want something better than I can make at home.
