Slate Windermere

This is a great place for a full English breakfast. Excellent sausage, bacon and egg plus beans, toast, tomato and a crispy hash brown. Added a black pudding at the behest of Boothroyd Bear. So superior to where we ate close by yesterday and significantly cheaper. Friendly staff. They operate as a bar later in the day. Also excellent taste in music. Will remember for next visit to Windermere....which is May 2024 with Ric. Still excellent.

Outstanding cafe - I contacted to see if they could help me with a special takeaway afternoon tea and Amanda could not of been more helpful. The afternoon tea was exceptional and priced perfectly- sandwich choice fab and all sandwiches delicious, beautiful sausage rolls and pork pies, salad, scrumptious scones complete with both clotted cream or butter and jam and an amazing selection of cakes. Amanda and team could not have been more helpful- due to poor weather we needed to switch the day the afternoon tea was required at short notice and Amanda was so accommodating - thank you Amanda and Sugar & Spice - we will always pop in when we are in Windermere - highly recommend and if you want afternoon tea - particularly to take away then Sugar & Spice should be your first choice.

Stopped here yesterday as we were passing by and discovered an absolute gem! Lovely looking cafe with fantastic atmosphere and ambience, greeted by super friendly and welcoming staff with a selection of cakes to just die for... Cannot recommend this cafe highly enough to anyone and we will definitely return.

Staff were very friendly and made us aware of what they hadn't got before we saw the menu which was helpful. Cakes (Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle and Chocolate Fudge Cake) were delightful and milkshake was lovely. Even managed to order a couple of sausages for the dog...would recommend and will revisit if we get the chance. 👍🏻
