Grub Burger Bar

Was in town for a lacrosse tournament with my son. We finished the days games about 1:30, headed to the hotel to get cleaned up and about 3 wanted “linner”. Saw the reviews online and the menu and decided to check it out. We ordered an appetizer of 12 boneless dry rub wings, a Southern Fried Chicken Club with house salad, a scorpion burger with fries and a chocolate shake with whipped cream and a Blue Moon ale. The chicken wings came first with blue cheese dressing and celery. The Dry Rub was simply amazing! We couldn’t place the different spices as to what they were. When the server brought the main meal, I told him the chicken rub was amazing and what was it? He said it was Cajun spices with some extra things mixed in. I wanted to switch my meal to another plate of bone in wings with the rub! we ate them so fast I couldn’t get a photo of them.....just the empty plate. The salad was good with balsamic dressing and the chicken club was perfect. Smoked bacon and really flavorful breading, not just fried flavor, and a mayo based spread with lettuce and tomato. My son said the burger was really good. Spicy but not crazy. Cooked perfectly with lots of flavors. The fries were also good and crispy. The chocolate shake was made fresh and was really good strong chocolate flavor. Overall the food and shake were great. All of the personnel we talked with were really friendly and seemed genuinely happy. My only small complaint was the timing of the delivery of the drinks. We had finished the appetizer had our main meal that my son was halfway through the burger and still didn’t have our drinks. They finally arrived with a smile from the waitress and we ate and drank away. Really great food and drinks, good atmosphere (Beatles, Stones, Cream and some newer mix music playing) and the people. Will try to hit it again for lunch or dinner before we head out!

I think Grub Burger bar has one of the best burgers in this region. In comparison to places like In-N-Out, Five Guys, and Shake Shack, Grub Burger adds its own stamp in the burger game and offers them at a great value. I've had many burgers here before and the quality is always the same. Great flavor and doneness as well as attentive and kind staff. I always can rely on Grub Burger to provide perfectly cooked burgers under $10 (unless you get the Wagyu burger, a limited time special). The fries here are different - extremely thin and crispy, they're pretty flavorful and contrast to the likes of Five Guys and In-N-Out. I would say Five Guys are more about the peanut oil and has tons of flavor in the potatoes and for In-N-Out, the fries aren't the star of the show. For Grub Burger, the fries are the star of the show and are full of flavor and crispiness. I've gotten the Bacon Love #9, the Guacapotle, Lockhart Legend, and Voo Doo Mushroom. All are $8.50 but only the Bacon Love comes with fries. I've also tried the California Chicken Club here as well and every single burger / sandwich are cooked to perfection (although a LITTLE salty for my tastes). I'm happy that Grub Burger exists. In the burger game there is a ton of competition and I've had the opportunity to eat many burgers. I'm happy to say that Grub Burger is definitely one of the top on my list in terms of value and flavor and does not fall short in comparison to some of the big names out there. Go here and you won't regret it.
