J Michael's Philly Deli

This spot is incredible, and the real deal if you are looking for an authentic cheese steak. When I saw they bring their rolls in from Amoroso's bakery, I knew I had to try it. Amoroso's is famous for their rolls, supplying all of the most well known cheese steak spots in Philly. The sandwich was on point, the roll was just as good as expected, extremely soft with a nice chew to it, but the outside held up well to the greasiness of a cheese steak. Comes with onions and American cheese by default, but you can have them put anything you want on it. I tried a default order first, and then the next day I came back and ordered another one with provolone and some jalapenos and sweet peppers lol. Both were great, with nicely cooked and chopped steak and a ton of melted cheese that melts into the meat more as you eat it. The Mozzarella sticks were also very good, a nice crispy texture and the marinara had a ton of flavor. The "Chicken Marinara" sandwich (aka a chicken parm) was also great, but I would recommend ordering some extra marinara on the side. Meatball parm was gigantic and the roll compliments it so well. I did not try the burgers myself, but I did see a couple of them and I would say that burgers aren't really their forte, id go with something on the Amoroso sub roll instead. Also, for those "wizwit" fans out there (if you know you know), I didn't see any cheese wiz around, so i'm not sure if they carry it, may want to give them a call and ask if that's what you are looking for. Give them a try, it won't disappoint.

It's a legend around Wilmington, especially the original across from the mall. Our favorites are the mushrooms, my Wife loves everything they cover with cheese. The cheesesteaks themselves aren't like the Philly originals. The meat, cheese and vegetables decent, but the bread lacks when compared to a true Philly.

Can't get this cheesestake enough. The chilli cheese fries are amazing. Staff is always wonderful. Been going there since I was 16. (That's 29 years) only had one off experience and that was a waitress was called in and didn't know what tables she was taking care of. They offered our cheesestakes free for the long wait. I happily drive 110 miles to eat here

It was good. I loved the cheese steak and it's up there with the best I've had. We really love the frips. They could update the building (fresh paint) and declutter a bit with all the signage and stuff. Also waitresses were nice but there were two of them taking care of us which kinda irks me. Took them forever to clean the tables around us even though they weren't busy, but they had plenty of time to gossip in our ear shot. Kinda wish you could just order your food at the register and they bring it out. That way you eliminate a waitress and just hire a person to wipe tables and tidy the dining room. Waitresses at a casual restaurant like this are a total waste. Other than that was very good and I will be coming back!
