Reel Cafe

Reel Cafe in Wilmington is a hidden gem that quickly stole my heart. Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I discovered this charming spot and have returned not once, but twice. The rooftop area is a standout feature, offering a delightful ambiance and stunning views of the city. The carefully curated music selection sets the perfect tone, creating an enjoyable and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're dancing to live bands or grooving to the DJ's beats, the music at Reel Cafe never disappoints. The friendly staff and excellent service add to the overall positive experience. If you're looking for a place with great vibes, amazing rooftop, and fantastic music, Reel Cafe is a must-visit.

Great downtown spot to get dinner or a few drinks! Has outdoor seating, a karaoke bar on the second floor, and live music most weekends on the rooftop. Also great spot for movie lovers…had some signed paraphernalia(One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek) etc. and had a specialty drink menu featuring themed movie cocktails from locally filmed projects. Our waitress said it was a popular spot for college kids during the semester but wasn’t too crowded on the Saturday night we went during the summer.

Nice place, even for lunch, but DO NOT order the pulled pork. It is very dry and tastes like wet cardboard. I do wish the waitress would have warned me, as they know and have heard the complaints. Apparently the chef disagrees with customer feedback and refuses to do anything about it. I did not finish my sandwich, but it was removed from the Bill luckily. The Mahi Mahi wrap that my wife had was amazing however.

My husband and I saw Trapt on the rooftop bar area. First we had dinner at the restaurant. The service was good and the food was delicious. I thought the sandwiches were overpriced before getting our meal but for the price, you get A LOT of food. After dinner, we headed up stairs and had a few drinks. The show was awesome! We were front row! There was an older lady sitting in the very front in the middle with a tripod that blocked our (and everyone else’s) view a bunch. I do wish someone would have told her to move as it was kinda rude. But I digress. We will be coming back to see another band if we are ever in town. The drinks were reasonably priced and my husband and I had an amazing time. How often do you get to be front row listening to THE band play your song as a couple? Just awesome!
