Hello Bistro

The food here is excellent and I'd love to make it a regular stop, but their online ordering is routinely rough. If you place an online order, it's like they don't read the order and just serve you up whatever they're feeling. Missing ingredients and missing items almost always guarantee a trip back to correct things. And that's if I have the time on my brief lunch break. If you're going in person and can monitor the order as it's made, you'll probably get what you asked for and love it. If you order online, I hope you like surprises.

I used to like this place. I went today and may never come back. The best thing I can say is that they have good fountain drinks. Many flavored sodas using cane sugar and real flavors are offered- black cherry, birch bark, cream soda, ginger ale, etc. Everything else was kind of unpleasant. My buffalo chicken salad was swimming in salad dressing. The fries were very oily with many green tinged pieces. I suggested this place for a lunch with friends. I was embarrassed when the food was not good.

I put in an online takeout order. While it was great that it was ready on time and they paid attention to my request for an extra dressing, the super burger did not meet my expectations. It was missing the sauce, and that is pretty much what makes the super burger! In addition, I asked for extra pickles and there were only 2 on the burger.

Absolutely terrible experience. First after ordering, I waited 27 minutes and had to walk up to the counter to ask for my food. There were customers who came in after me and received their burgers and fries before me. My food was just sitting on the counter. I asked if it was still hot and was told yes. I ate my first fry and it was cold and had to request new fries. I then opened my burger to find it made wrong and had to have that remade. It took a total of 40 minutes from time of ordering to receiving my food. Food was ordered at 1:48 according to the receipt and the correct food finally arrived to me at 2:26. Was very disappointed that no gesture for the inconvenience was made for such a huge waste of time and the multi mess ups of the restaurant. To top it off...I was one of only two customers during this time.

I eat at Hello Bistro at least 3 days per week at either Wexford or McCandles. I never had an issue until today. I was building my own salad at the Wexford location when the woman making my salad just flipped out on me and kind of yelled at me over salad dressing. Then she just stared me down. I quested what prompted her outburst and she just smirked and shook her head. I wish I knew what I did. I never complain about service but today, I had to share. Not a friendly place …. My advise is go to another location. Plus I gave a pretty healthy tip which I wish I could have taken back.
