Dairy Joy

Love it. Been coming here all my life. We used to beg my dad for the amazing soft ice cream. The vegan soft serve is even more magical, AND they have gluten free cones. I recommend the chocolate dip. There is no ice cream better than soft serve at Dairy Joy, period. I don’t usually get the lunch food because it is a bit pricey for basic standard New England roadside summer food, imho, but people seem to like it and I will cave and get an item from time to time. Fingers crossed for adding Beyond Burger and gluten free buns to the menu one of these days! The staff is the best, friendly and helpful. Tip them when you go. The place is Cash Only so be prepared!

This place is known for its huge ice creams that can serve two from a medium cone...however if you do get food which I recommend their seafood is to die for...if you prefer a burger that too is tasty with a side of fries....it can get pricey so plan accordingly and they only take cash...there is an atm on site so don't worry if you forget. There is adequate parking and table benches if you choose to stick around the vibe is chill and everyone around is always friendly.

It feels so unoriginal to say, but I love the Javaberry and the the fried <seafood> (clams, usually). Always at least a handful of people there, but it still feels picturesque and peaceful. It's so nifty to have one of America's oldest dairy barns nearby, and I really, really hope that it's long history will be able to continue.
