Applebee's

Love the Happy hour specials late night at Applebee's. The one we usually go to closed early so we went to our 2nd choice. Glad we did the bartender (who was also our server because we sat in the bar). Was amazing. She had no problem making my special order drink (an Angry Orchard hard cider served Coronarita style in Applebee's signature red Sangria) and was attentive and pleasant the entire time. We stayed right up to closing if not a little after .

I should have known... walking into an EMPTY restaurant, something was wrong. At first it was ok. Then, it was like the entire staff hung out in the kitchen giggling and laughing, while the glasses sat empty for extended periods of time - not once, but twice. When we told our local friend where we were going, he said skip it, he'd never had a good meal at this location. He wasn't wrong. Sitting at a bar, glasses (to include water) should never be empty. The absentee bartender received a tip reflective of her service. The only waitress who popped out, intermittently, was too involved in her phone, we couldn't even send her to look for the absent bartender. A male, who appeared to be a manager of sorts stuck his head out once, to look at the 8 customers... and went back to wherever he came from. All around bad service, mediocre food. And yes, I understand covid, they were NOT short staffed.

After waiting 15 minutes to be seated and watching staff run around counting menu's and looking lost when there were over 20 people waiting to be seated, just left in disgust. If it takes them that long to seat don't want to know how long it would take to actually be waited on and recover food especially when it wasn't that busy. If I could give a rating of zero I would.

My family and I visit this place regularly. I never used to be a fan of the food, but I feel like they have really improved their menu. Everything is very reasonably price. I usually make modifications to whatever I order and the staff was very helpful and nice about it. I would recommend the classic bacon cheeseburger. The house salad was also very fresh and tasty.

We have been coming to this location for many years and always had good experiences. Even through the pandemic. Last night was an exception. The food was fabulous. We were seated near the bar which was fine. The bartender was our server, so we were basically ignored. We had our dinner, paid our bill and this is when everything fell apart. Apparently we "paid the wrong bill". I said I paid the bill that came up on the computer and was told that "sometimes the computer puts the table in the wrong place. You paid the bill for the table next to you." That resulted in additional charges because we "paid for the wrong bill". The only thing we were offered was an apology for the confusion. We were basically blamed for the computer messing up. From this point forward, I will wait until the server (or a Manger) checks what I'm supposed to pay for. I'm just glad I asked for a receipt instead of emailing it. Wonder what would have happened then
