The Malted Barley

The Malted Barley is a cozy fun place with a unique menu and large variety of craft beer. Went with three friends on a Sunday midafternoon for beer flights and stuffed pretzels (though I had a glass of wine). The restrooms are unisex with a lot of carved graffiti on the walls. Some of the comments were a bit racy but most were amusing. We ordered our drinks and a jalapeño cheddar stuffed pretzel and a Thanksgiving pretzel. The second one was filled with stuffing and turkey, cranberry sauce and gravy on the side for dipping. Both pretzels were delicious and had a nice crispy crunch (almost over cooked but still good). We'll be back and try their other stuffed pretzels, sandwiches and salads.

This place is a local gem. Good vibes, great food and drinks, and convenient location. Service was quick and super friendly. I love that they offer all beers in a 4oz serving as I usually never finish a full beer - just enough to get a taste! And the pretzels are next level. Highly recommend and will be sure to stop in whenever I'm in town!

Awesome place! I would highly recommend The Malted Barley. We are gluten free and they have tons of options for us! We got a tasting of the ciders and some cocktails as well as a gluten free pretzel! The cocktails were okay but it’s more of a beer place anyway. Gluten free pretzel was delicious! Not the same as a regular pretzel obviously but it was still excellent and our server was delightful. I didn’t catch her name but she had such a cute snake tattoo on her finger. All in all I can’t wait to come back to try what they have on draft next and get more gluten free goodness 😋

My son and I came here for lunch and it was awesome! Such a unique meal! I ordered the Caprese Sandwich which came on a super yummy Garlic and Parsley Pretzel, and my son got the Black Bean Burger on a Salted Pretzel, which he really enjoyed. We both got Root Beer Floats which were perfect. The inside has a great bar feel to it without being a dive…it’s really well done. We just moved to the area and this place is about a mile from our house, so we will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

Located in a cozy little area of westerly , you will find this hidden gem. The offer a variety of craft beer and gourmet pretzels . They have plenty of seating , upstairs and down. Staff are very attentive. Food took a little longer then expected , but they informed us ahead of schedule at least. But the food was really good . The menu isn’t vast , but what’s in it will definitely fill you up. The portions look small , but they are dense . It’s worth the trip if you haven’t eaten here.

Everything we ate here was delicious. The combinations of flavors were so unique. The staff was super friendly and funny. The "flight" of samples was great, loved the grapefruit shandy! As appetizer, the crowd favorite was the jalapeño pretzel + apricot dip. Mind blowing! Each person in the group got a different sandwich and each loved their dish. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in Westerly!
