Harpers

The food is good, although nothing special or better than other local restaurants. However, great atmosphere and service. I had to take a star off as unfortunately there were some annoying flies going around that really distracts from the meal, and don’t seem to hygienic. I appreciate the owner knows about this and they are on the issue. I hope it gets sorted soon and I will edit my review !

Our latest visit on a busy weekday night, yielded sausage and meatball starters, a fine liver main and fish and (slightly disappointing) chips. Kir was great and unafraid of the cassis. Our server admitted that the restaurant was a lot busier than expected which may have accounted for slow arrival of starters. The volume of chatter was notable. Staff friendly and helpful as ever.

This is the first time that I have been to Harpers, we visited with my elderly parents for dads birthday as he loved it on a previous visit. My mum who doesn't eat alot, ate it all as it was in her words, "beautifully cooked", as was it all. It definitely will not be the last time that I will visit. The staff were all great and the food was absolutely amazing, 100%. I recommend that you give Garpers a try

Delicious food, helpful and attentive staff and great atmosphere. I was particularly impressed that they changed the dish to what I wanted- I asked for a tomato and chilli sauce with my king prawn linguine and they obliged. Nice cocktails. Everyone was happy with their food. Very attentive staff- kept refilling our glasses.

Went to Harpers for dinner with the other half and was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't expecting much for a mid-week outing. The decor was on point and the ambience was warm and inviting. The seating was cosy enough for a couple on a date. Even better was the service and staff, again, warm and friendly. The food was delicious even if not extraordinary. We enjoyed the starters a lot. The pricing wasn't exorbitant at all. Overall, a totally enjoyable and relaxing evening in a cosy, friendly local restaurant at a price-point that didn't break the bank. What's there not to be happy about? I might even be tempted back soon!
