Carlo's Bakery

I remember many years ago going to the Hoboken Carlo’s Bakery for ice cream cake which they no longer sell and cookies. Is a fairly small place, no parking and staff was always young high school kids. Once the bakery went on tv as the “Cake Boss”, the prices took off and the quality of the goods remained the same. They stopped selling Italian ice cream cake and just focused on the show and selling everything at a much higher price. The Willowbrook store is a satellite store with limited goods and I believe is near closing down. Poor staff and quality.

I went to this place on a Tuesday and was told I can order a cake with custom colors and a larger size, but to call back when the baker was there to place the order. Next day I called, the baker wasn't available and the new guy had no idea what to tell me, only that I can only order two days before the pickup date. I called Friday to place the order for Sunday only to be told they can't change the color or size and they can't do custom cakes. What kind of bakery can't do custom cakes? Cake boss? More like cake BS.
