Dunkin'

Donuts were fresh and delicious. Customer service was certainly lacking. For most people now days, who cares, I guess. The main “go to” for us is always the chocolate iced old fashioned. We don’t have a Dunkin anywhere near our home so it’s a special treat. We have witnessed the uhmmmmmmmm and uhhhsss for what seems like an eternity from customers at restaurants so we try to peak for options and be ready when asked for our order. We waited a bit by the register. They were well staffed and as always, the drive thru was hopping. We got no greeting once someone came to the front counter. She just stood there. After a few awkward seconds of silence, I jumped in with a smile and a good morning, may we place an order to go? She replied yes. I asked if they happened to have any chocolate glazed old fashioned. She was confused. I asked if they had chocolate glazed CAKE donuts, not yeast but cake. She said...”ya, I have no idea”. Then she said oh yeah we have cake and she referred to 3 other cake versions. I thanked her but said that wasn’t quite what we were looking for. Once I scanned the trays, I offered up our order, she cut me off with a sigh and asked just how many we planned to get. Oops I forgot it’s best to tell them so they know what size bag/box to start out with. I apologized. We paid and were on our way. No smiles, a bit of uncertainty about their product offerings and no thank you. I even had to look at the register to know what my total was before paying. Great tasting donuts, as almost ALWAYS at Dunkin just no customer service skills.

When ordering and purchasing my food via the Dunkin Donuts app, I have found that it is not guaranteed that I will receive exactly what I ordered from the app menu. For example, I ordered two glazed donuts, but when I pulled up to the drive thru window, I was informed that there were no glazed donuts that could be given to me. That is not the first time this has happened to me. It tends to also happen with certain pre-packed ice creams; some flavors seem to ALWAYS be out of stock. Most importantly, there are times when I receive food that has clearly been sitting and is not fresh. One time I ordered a Croissant stuffer and it was so rock-solid that I would’ve broken my teeth trying to bite into it. I tend to tolerate a lot when it comes to fast food service but lately it’s been getting worse and worse. I’m starting to feel as if I should no longer be a customer of Dunkin Donuts due to the poor quality of the food/drinks, lack of food available, etc..
