The Snug Pub

Food was good, fries unexpectedly salty but not too much so. The service was what really made this place great, we had a waitress who was on her second day of the job and she was excellent! Very polite and professional. They accommodate for food allergies and were very attentive to requests from our table. The card machine had issues when we were paying and the waitress handled it very well and helped us figure it out.

Great service with beautiful views. A convenient spot to visit when staying at the resort. Menu is fairly limited but still enough to choose from (pub fare) and keep in mind there’s not a lot of gluten friendly options. They had a delicious soup of the day when we were there. Our server was warm and seemed happy to be serving. We came around 9:20 (they close at 10) and there wasn’t any sign of them being inconvenienced by us coming later, or rushing us to order. Calamari was nice and the batter wasn’t too dense. Generous portion of nachos. The Caesar salad was also quite nice. Only complaint is how sweet the cocktails were even after we asked for a small amount of sweetness. We weren’t able to finish them. It would be nice to offer ones on the menu that aren’t heavy with sugar and syrups.

Had a lovely time with my Mom. An early Thanksgiving date. Decades of memories at OBBH and The Snug. Phenomenal view. The drinks were delicious (Feature Old Fashioned & Chardonnay), didn't love the nachos - too eclectic a version for our taste but the soup was yummy. Our server was perfect, prompt, fun, professional as were all the staff. Thank you for a wonderful time!

We sat on the patio for dinner during our stay at the oak bay beach hotel and the views were impressive. We got the spicy nachos -which were not spicy at all and the clam chowder which was delicious! We got to watch the sunset and the moon rise all from our table on the patio. Beautiful view of the bay and you could even see mount baker! Would recommend!

Snug Pub is located inside the Oak Bay Beach Hotel. We stopped for a little dessert and cocktails after exploring Victoria. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with picturesque views of the water and mountains. If you get there after “busy” hours it’s easier to walk in and snag a spot outside. The service was excellent! Ordered a creme brûlée to share, and a lemon drop and hot toddy. As the evening got cooler, they offered to turn the heat lamp on and brought out blankets. Next time, dinner.

Had a really excellent experience at The Snug Pub. I didn’t have high expectations for this pub within the hotel but it honestly delivered! I had the chicken and risotto main course. Chicken was tender, nicely seared. All the flavours were comforting and spot on. Service was friendly and genuine. The views are beautiful from the restaurant during the day but dark in the evening so you can’t see the ocean at that point. Cocktails also exceeded expectations. Appreciate the use of local distilleries. Thanks for the lovely meal and drinks, will be back!
