Nothin' Fancy Cafe

If you are looking for a great diner atmosphere this is your place !!! We stopped in on a Sunday morning and with it being Mother’s Day We were expecting it to be very busy, which it was. We were greeted by almost every staff member and they were the kindest happiest people. We were seated immediately and brought coffee and water ! The menu is quite large and has a great variety. Definitely diner breakfast food (exactly what we were looking for) I had an omelet with spinach ,mushrooms and bacon..and it was HUGE! The food came out within 5 min of ordering it , no exaggeration! Fun little bonus— Today there was a man making balloon animals for the kids and upon Checking out, they gave a lovely flower to me for Mother’s Day !

Okay, I have to start by saying this was my 1st time eating from here. It was recommended by a coworker as best fish fry in the area. We had take out because of time issues. Which is not how I wanted to try this place. Take out is normally not as good as eat in. Anyway the fish was amazing tasting and it was cooked perfectly. I had the zesty and my wife had traditional. Both were very good. The salads that came with were fresh and great tasting. Fries were a little soggy as can be expected with take out containers holding moisture in. A few minutes in the air fryer and they were good. Coleslaw was good too, but I was so full from the fish and some of the fries, I didn't have much of it. I want to definitely try this place again and eat in. The staff, for the short time I was there were very friendly. And unlike what someone recently posted, locals do eat there...in droves. I picked up my food at 4:45 pm and it was packed. Locals know where to eat, and this must be the place. Try it.

Side order of greens $4.50 before tax. 5 dollars for about 5 forks. Box has about 5 fork fulls. Kind of a small serving. That's a small box. I cant say the food doesn't taste good. Because they have good food. Just a little skimpy. I could get a whole burger or some Chinese food for a dollar more full meal someplace else. Escorole is not expensive. Wanted something on the side of my sand.
