Panera Bread

My wife and I stopped in for lunch at about 1:15. I ordered a half turkey and avocado BLT and summer squash soup. The soup was fine but ended up getting cold by the time I had the manager come out and look at the mess of a sandwich I was served. After picking up the sandwich, I asked the manager to come to the table. I pointed out the lettuce pieces that were brown and black. Not a pieces of lettuce, but what looked like lettuce scraps. The tomato wasn't a slice of tomato, but the leftovers. One small piece of avocado was smashed into the top of the sandwich. The bacon was undercooked and soft. As I was describing and showing it to the manager, she kept saying "Okay", until she informed me that was the way the bacon was usually made. I explained that in my experience, the bacon would be crunchy, but what I had was undercooked. Her response was that IF I wanted, she would refund the cost of the sandwich. No offer to remake the sandwich, and it wasn't until I brought it to her attention that all she had done was defend the undercooked bacon that she then admitted the sandwich was under par. And offered to refund the cost of the sandwich. She never offered to remake the sandwich the way it should be. I declined the refund offer as I told her that it would appear that was my intent when I really wanted her to know what the problem was. Now the soup was cold and not nearly as good as it was before the manager got there. My wife's Southwestern lime and chicken salad was also unappetizing and went mostly uneaten. We are done with Panera in Valdosta and will be difficult to tempt to Panera anywhere. At my age if I get poor service and poor food I just don't bother to try it anymore.

Stopped at Valdosta Panera just now. Stood at the counter waiting for the girl in the back to come out. She turned and looked at us twice with no acknowledgement and just stood there. Guess Panera is so big now they don't care about two people waiting at the counter. Valdosta used to be one of the best Panera but it has gone down in quality and service in the last 6 months. Wont be eating here any more.

I would suggest not using curbside unless you plan to wait! I waited over 20 minutes then finally ended up going through the drive through to get it. I’d normally run in when it takes forever but I have two infants and one was asleep. And they weren’t busy at all. I’ve come on a busy night and got my order much quicker. I added a pic so you can see how long it’s been. The ice is melted and the flavor/syrup has separated from the coffee.

I ordered for curbside pickup and it was so much .ore streamlined than going thru the drive-thru. Everything I ordered was extra tasty. My sandwich was perfect- I was expecting it to be somewhat soggy because it had hummus and cucumber and the bread wasn't toasted, but there was even a millimeter of bread that was soggy. Thank goodness!
