Killer Vegan

This used to be our favorite spot but everything has since changed. In the beginning the owner used to be there and things were running smoothly. She then ended up hiring others who did not really care for the job so that is a very unfortunate thing when you don't tend to your own business it goes downhill plain and simple. When you go to Killer Vegan you have to order at the counter, pay and then seat yourself. Once your food comes out you get your own utensils and water unless you order a shake which is not worth buying anymore. There is not much to say about the decor or theme because there really isn't any. A rabbit holding a carrot as a weapon? um ok :) and some of the music they play is questionable/inappropriate. The wait has always been very long even when it's not busy. Our favorite items were the panini, mac n cheese and as sides the kale slaw and sprouts but these menu items have changed and aren't as good as they used to be. The Sunday brunch menu is always the same, there isn't a good variety of foods like when you go to other REAL brunches that are worth paying over $20 for. The biscuits, sausage and french toast are dry, the tofu is salty and the so-called Arroz con Gandules is not Arroz con Gandules sorry. The rice is bland and undercooked. There are no fresh fruit, salads, desserts and other items you would enjoy at REAL brunches. Parents don’t get a break because the children have to pay full price and that's a bit much when they hardly eat. They are expensive, the portions are small, and they don't use gloves to prepare the food so we definitely won't be returning.

Gunslinger and Cheesy Fries are both amazing. I highly recommend this place. I have been coming here for years and it’s always a homerun. My suggestion to the owner is to try adding vegan pizza or other items to make it more attractive. Definitely two thumbs up! Thank you for staying open during the pandemic. We appreciate it.

The food was… good but the restaurant felt very disorganized when it came to seating arrangements, ordering and dining in. When we entered we waited in line for a bit to then find out we have to grab menus and seat ourselves. There is no waiters, seats aren’t assigned so we had had to find a seat, sit and look at the menu and once we were ready to order we had to leave our coats on our chairs and go back in line to place our orders. All this confusion and back and forth could be avoided if there was a big menu hung up for everyone to read while in line. That way everyone can read off the menu & see they want to eat while they wait in line. Instead of waiting in line, to then be given a menu and told to find a seat, to end up just getting up again a few minutes later to place your order and stand In line behind all the other people who are confused and waiting. When we sat down both people to our right and left were complaining about their orders being wrong so I was a bit nervous about what I should expect. Our food came out in a timely manner and was pretty decent. I would definitely recommend their spicy white bean soup. Overall my 2 favorite dishes were their soup special of the day (Spicy White Bean Kale Soup) and their carrot cake dessert. Another thing I was not a big fan of is get my own metal silverware and getting up to pour my water. I Just really felt annoyed having to walk 3 tables down to pour my water & find some forks and knives while we are dining in. We had a server bring our plates and food so we just assumed they forgot the silverware and water. When we asked about it they told us we need to go up and get them from the table in the corner, It’s just confusing. Again this is just my opinion. I been here quite a few times but this is my first review. I like this place because it offers a variety of vegan foods that are pretty tasty. Today there was plenty of street parking which is rare on regular days. I called in my order and the food was ready when I got there. They didn't have the chickpea melt so I decided to try the sausage and pepperson ciabatta bread. It was $11 for the sandwich and a side of chips. You can also get a different side for an upcharge. When I got home I dug in. This was my first time getting the sausage and it was pretty good and pretty big as well. I would get this sandwich again in the future.

Great diner type place with a variety of vegan meals. We each had the killer burger which was delicious and had a great texture. The chocolate milk shake was the highlight of the meal however! Very friendly and accommodating staff and casual atmosphere. A little on the costly side but I will certainly be returning!
