I wanted to take a moment to share my dining experience at Smiths in Uddingston, as it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the ambiance and attention to detail. The food was absolutely outstanding - every bite was bursting with flavour and expertly prepared. Not only that, but the service was impeccable. Our server, without a doubt, was the epitome of excellence. She anticipated our needs effortlessly and ensured that our dining experience was flawless from start to finish. Whether it was promptly refilling our cups or ensuring that our orders were delivered exactly as requested, she went above and beyond to create an exceptional dining experience for us. It's rare to find such dedicated and attentive service in today's fast-paced world, and I must say that she set the bar incredibly high. I highly recommend the Smiths to anyone looking for a memorable evening filled with delectable cuisine and top-notch service. It truly is an excellent place for dinner and drinks in Uddingston.

On the Main Street of Uddingston (near train station). Interesting menu, 3 course £30 and 2 course £25. Party of four, had pate with brioche and scallops with black pudding to start. The scallops had £6 surcharge, only two scallops but superb. For main we had a beef blade with roasted veg and baked cod (one cod made gluten free) with chowder. Really nice. For dessert ice cream which was good and the cheese platen(£3 supplement). Two glasses pinot Grigio and two glass house Spanish rose. Both excellent. I knocked off a star for the cheese plate. Everything else was super, but the cheese was too cold and tasted like supermarket. No names given for what was served. It was disappointing. We should have had the desert. A great meal and well worth a visit. £143 without tip, added 10 %

Really like this wee place. Nice decor, relaxed, popular (good sign) and good, friendly service (up until we wanted to pay, and then the waitress disappeared, but we'll forgive them this once). Menu has enough variety to suit most, and at very reasonable prices for 2/3 courses. And most importantly, the food is really good! I decided to go for the Steak Frites, which turned out to be an excellent decision. Cooked medium-rare to perfection, complemented by a well prepared peppercorn sauce, and delicious fries. Worth the extra!
