Baskin-robbins

This is the closest Baskin-Robbins to us, and we have been going here many years. About eight (or so) years ago, the owners were very surly, unfortunately, and would even scowl at us, if we brought in a coupon that the parent company had mailed to us. About three years ago, though, that all changed, and the staff smiled at us and were very friendly. The ice cream is great! Unfortunately, they had to close because of Covid, and the stupid bussed-in race riot broke their windows (even though they were closed), and they are still "temporarily closed". Bummer. We miss them.

Super impressed with the service of the guy and gal in the store 1-24-20 930pm. My family came in got our custom ice cream order with a smile, patient with us and just a joy they were happy to serve us. Ice cream we ordered was excellent, awesome to chose and get what each one of us wanted. There were 2 other groups of people in the store. They helped someone find a spot to charge their phone. 6 stars if that was an option...above and beyond excellent.

Baskin Robbins serves several kinds of ice cream and sherbet. They have some pre-made ice cream cakes available. The ice cream is of good quality but not organic. The staff needs to be better trained because during this visit and other visits they did not know about what is included in the price of a regular Sunday or how many punches you get on the card for repeat customers.

Good Lord, I love their ice-cream. I hate dieting. It's been a while since a visit here. Due to where I've lived over the years, I've hit the BRs on Memorial, Sheridan and Garnett about equally. I give 4-stars to this and the other BRs simply because I don't think corporate gives training equal to the other chains. Staff do a job I would only brand as "OK." It's not bad. Just nothing to write home about. Come to think of it, when I was a kid in Florida in the early 1970's, the local BR pretty much was the same: Great ice-cream, only fair service. I guess it's a formula that's worked a lot of years, but I can't put a 5-star to it.

To be honest, I have not enjoyed Baskin Robbins since I was a young child. My grandmother, as a rare special treat, on the way home from church, would take us to get a single scoop, cone. Crazy, I am 46 years old and still remember that. I digress. I really just stopped by to read all the non five star reviews. It's ice cream, it's amazing. All Baskin Robbins everywhere should get a five star rating. You can't mess up perfection, right?
