Salsa Verde

This was my first time, I have passed by it 100 times and never stopped because I enjoy authentic mexican food, and the building and sign look like a chain restaurant... boy, was I surprised! The server was very attentive and made some good recommendations. I ended up ordering the red chili con carne on the Wednesday special huarrachi(sp) bread. Fantastic, full of flavor, and the bread was like I used to get in Jalisco! Excellent salsa bar with all the fresh fixins, can't wait to go back!

If you’re looking for a Tucson gem that serves fresh authentic Mexican food that is creatively arranged, this is the place! There is a walk up salsa bar having a generous variety of homemade salsas in a super clean; comfortable restaurant w/indoor/outdoor seating and welcoming staff. Our server, Brisa, had superior menu knowledge of ingredients, offered entree suggestions, and had a welcoming attention to her tables displaying professionalism which added to a pleasant dining experience.

Visiting East Tucson and decide to try out Salsa Verda with some local friends. The outside looks like a fast food joint, and you can get food to go, but you get fresh made #NomNomNom. There is table service in the small dining room. We had four in our party and we order chips and guacamole, chimichanga, quesadilla, barbacoa burrito, and a Supremo burrito. Everything was absolutely delicious and a good deal. We walked away with a Doggy bag as it was just too much food. This place is a rare gem on the Eastside of Tucson. The food is great. They have some unique menu items you don't always see at every place. Full salsa bar that has quality salsa and toppings. Staff is nice and inside is always clean and a great place to get out of the heat. Been coming since they opened. Quality is always consistent and getting better it seems with time. My recommendation is to get the Supremo Burrito and get it bacon wrapped. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant is one of those places you would never notice or think to go to unless you read the reviews. It's an unassuming, small place in a strip mall. But, the food is very good. Salsa verde pork platter, shrimp tacos and the huge and very rich burrito supreme were all very good. Many drink options, and huge margaritas! Prices are on the high side, especially for tacos, but the corn tortillas are some of the best we've ever had and it's some of the better Mexican we've had in the area. Casual, plenty of parking.
