Better Burger

Food was pretty good! Prices where super cheap, but its very little food. So I guess we got what we paid for, but we ordered two different sizes in onion rings and the small had 3or 4 and large had 5! They where not big, so I was so confused 😐...I'd rather had paid more and got more. We left still hungry 😫

Better Burger has been around a long time. I worked there in the early/mid 90’s for Alvin & Laney then Whitney took over around the same time. She has ran the show since then. The place has all the feels and nostalgia it did 30 years ago. If you’re wanting good burgers, dawgs, and fries then this is your place.

The food is good depending what day you go and who cooking. The last time we went the new kitchen guy they had threatened to throw food from the trash at us because we tood the cashier he was picking food up off the floor and still making people food without changing his gloves. Then went outside came back in and the same gloves were still on as he began dealing with food orders again. Luckily the other lady did our food but that still was enough to make my new favorite restaurant my least favorite establishment now. I drive over and hr to go there so I think, I'll be saving my gas moving forward. EAT THERE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Ate at Better Burger in Troy yesterday. Got food poisoning. Woke up at 2:00am with awful stomach pains and now can’t be more then a few steps from the bathroom at any time and I am miserable. Called the restaurant and the owner had left by 10 am. Left a message explaining and asking the staff to call the owner and have them call right away. In the 40 minutes I’ve waited so far I’ve found they shut their reviews off 3 years ago (pre Covid!) for issues I saw at the restaurant yesterday. Anyone had experiences with reporting a restaurant to the health department? Guess I have to wait until Monday to do that? Update: owner called me. Whitney Harris. I heard about how it was the concert in Troy and that’s why the restaurant was not clean. The concert was 2 hours after I was there. I asked why they didn’t call her when a customer suspected food poisoning. She told me they are only have kids working there. She also said she heard food poisoning takes 24 hours and they wear gloves. I didn’t see any when I was there. I heard it was a bad day yesterday. I heard many excuses. She kept wanting to explain why. I did not hear an apology or anything of the sort. She did offer to pull cameras to check and see if they wear gloves like they should. That’s her fix for what happened yesterday. Not even a refund for a badly cooked meal was offered. I told her i was not happy with her lack of accountability and hung up. She called back. I told her to talk to the health department Monday. She said she would. You couldn’t pay for my meal and have me eat Better Burger again. I’d also like to challenge her to turn her reviews on Facebook back on. It’s curious that they were turned off 3 years ago. That’s pre- Covid mind you.

We had five people eating all of us were disappointed. Also found out that a chicken finger Tray is only 3 fingers no fries or sides and cost about 6 bucks also no drink included. If they had been cooked good or seasoned I might could have lived with it. Two of three hamburgers were undercooked all dripped greased everywhere. Onion rings were terrible. We all love mom and pop diners but this one it was terrible
