Bloc 145

During lockdown we ordered from here a few times and never be disappointed so we finally come to the cafe . The menu has variety of options and they are so tasty. Just wasn’t too much a fan of the 100% matcha. But my partner ordered their coffee, it was very good. Will definitely come visit again to try the pasta.

We truly enjoyed going to Bloc 145. This place is like an enclosed urban oasis, so calm and comforting. There are 2 sections in this place, the front side, facing the street is a coffee shop, with a beautiful display of baked items. A more take away or casual sitting arrangement. The back side at Bloc145, has a more formal feeling, a mid section of a very cozy seating arrangement and finally the main formal sitting room, a restaurant feeling, where the furniture has been carefully selected and arranged in various ways. I liked very much that there is more that one way to visit and seat in this place, I actually loved that. The food we tried was wonderful, special mention needed to the pickles :) The coffee was great. Prices are affordable and reasonable. Overall a great experience, it is a different offering in a surprising location.

Paid $18 for a haloumi salad bowl takeaway and received a disappointingly pathetic child portion of a dish. The meal tasted fine however im not sure how feel about 6 pumpkin 1cm cubes, 6 slices of haloumi, few leaves of kale and a pinch of feta - especially receiving a meal which only filled 20% of the takeaway box for the price paid (and ive paid more for salad). Quite ridiculous and does not justify any inflation whatsoever. Would not recommend and would never come back 🥹.

Visited Bloc145 over the weekend. The ambience of the cafe was good but I can't say I really enjoyed my meal here and likely won't be back. I ordered the wagyu beef donburi - it was presented well, it didn't taste horrible but it wasn't good either. The rice was not a nice texture, the wagyu beef was bland and a little chewy, and the caramelised onion tasted like it was marinated in soy sauce. The onsen egg was probably the best part of the dish. I also ordered the truffle 58% dark chocolate drink... meh?

This has got to be my favourite place to get coffee in Redfern. Without fail, the coffee (and cake) is amazing every time and the service is genuine, warm and very professional. The last time I was here I had lunch, which was the right decision. The Japanese pancake with Salmon was amazing, hitting all the right notes. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. This place is out of my way, but I always seem to go there.
