State 48 Brewery

Emily B was our sweet server. What a kind, courteous young lady. There was nothing she forgot to ask us when serving us. This girl knows how to read a room & didn't try to push me to keep ordering beers. She knew I was a one-beer guy after just one pass. Thank you for that, Emily. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza was super tasty. We added pepperoni & whoa was it good. The fries are seasoned just right. Their selection of craft beers is fantastic. I had the Big Stick IPA 10abv & it went down good. This one is better than the Westgate location.

We celebrated the adoption of our granddaughter this evening. The food was excellent as always. From the appetizers, like fried pickles and chicken wings to the entrees like original pizzas and burgers 🍔, it was all top-notch. Ali, our server, was beyond comparison. (Ask for her!) Our only complaint was the environment in the banquet room. The ventilation and lighting left a lot to be desired - our only complaint.

I love local spots and we’ve visited State 48 a few times in the last month. We’ve of course come over the years when near by, but they seem to be getting better and better. I love to see that! Depending on when you come it may be a bit difficult to find parking, but we got lucky and didn’t even have to wait for a table. Tonight we opted for the side in the bar or what they call The Barrel Room. It’s very cool, many tv’s, high tops, booths and cozy couch area. While it is a brewery it wasn’t so loud you couldn’t talk and I like that. I love, love, love their pulled pork sandwich, but tonight I went for the Sonoran Burger. Others in my family ordered the chicken tenders from the appetizer section added fries as well as the club sandwich as well as some side salads. For our appetizer we decided on the potstickers. I was on the fence with that as I’d of chose the nachos lol, but they were so good! The sauce they came with to dip was delicious and paired well. Our server was pretty good and we never had to ask for refills etc. she was great about clearing plates and checking in. Our food came out pretty quick and everything was plated well. I really liked my side salad. Everything was fresh and good ranch. My burger was not much to look at, but tasted so dang good. I wish they would’ve but the corn, jalepeno and pico on top of the meat or toasted the bottom bun more because it got soggy very quickly and hard to keep together. Flavor wise it was fantastic and cooked exactly how I asked. The club sandwich was a highlight. It was huge, full of meat and bread toasted well. Every time we visit we like State 48 even more. There is outside seating, party room available for event and as I said the barrel room bar area was awesome. Great stop!

Everything I've ever had here has been fantastic. The 48 burger last week( so good) the rodeo burger today, also so good. My wife had the fish and chips, one of the best I've had here in town. If you like meatloaf, don't miss one. Such a uniquely wonderful tasting take on it. The dark gravy is delicious. They also have my favorite beer here. The Desert Vibe lager. So smooth.

Asked the Bartender Tara what the best burger was, the Sonoran (Southwest Burger). The usual burger I go with. She offered the Barrel Room Menu to me instead, filled with Italian Cuisine. The Italian Street Corn Nachos, intuitive and perfect for an appetizer. The Godfather of Harlem Panini was incredible. Throw some of that pesto on it plus the balsamic, it’s over with. No disappointments here. Will be back, will order the same thing again.

We stopped in here for an early dinner, and we were surprised by how good the food was here. We ordered a wood fire pizza that was actually really good. It was better than most pizza places in the valley. The PB and J burger was delicious. It sounds weird, but man, was it a good combination. The brisket sandwich was also delicious with just the right level of seasoning. The fries are amazing, too. They have this unique crispness to them. Our server was really nice, and our food came up pretty quickly. The atmosphere was your classic rustic look, which pairs well with the classic city pup feel. Overall, we were really happy with the quality of the food and would definitely be back again.

Recently moved to Surprise from North Phoenix. Been here a couple times now. Loved their beers and cocktails. Appetizers! loved their elotes. Chicken wings could have been better. Liked their cauliflower wings the first time but the chunks were huge during my second visit. The smaller the better. Entrees, loved their southwest chicken pasta and pizzas! Their chocolate toffee mousse cake is amazing.

Very fun brewery with a great atmosphere. The bartender guy is of top quality and explained some of the beers to us (very cool guy). Had the black porter and unfiltered IPA and both were perfect. Dog friendly outdoors with heaters if needed and the indoors has a large garage type door in the bar that opens do plenty of fresh air. Highly recommend

We were passing through town on our way to Phoenix and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch to watch some World Cup soccer (Argentina/Mexico) when my wife came across this place! I’m glad she found it! We showed up and we’re the first ones in! We sat at the bar and were instantly greeted by the friendly bartender! Service was fantastic! Food was exceptional and came out quickly! Usually places we frequent like this have mediocre beer but we were pleasantly surprised at not only the quality, but the quantified options available! We’re going to the Cardinals v Chargers game tomorrow and will probably have to stop at the Funk House, another one of State 48’s locations prior to kickoff! Thanks guys! Great experience! Recommend to everyone!

Today was so fun! We flew into AZ last night and decided to Uber to a close Brewery! They were super busy so it took a little time but we were always checked in on. We ate some “plates” and burgers and of course had the flights. So we tried 10 different beers. Liked all of them!! Stop into one of their 6 locations you will be satisfied. Best part Kids welcome!
