We came here because this place was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Drives. I love the ambiance of this place. Lots of memorabilia. They are well known for their burgers. The seating is open. You sit as there are tables open. We didn't have a long wait especially going in there on a Saturday lunch rush. Everyone seemed like they were having a good time. The server was extremely nice! I would come back here just for him. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. $1.25 wasn't that much to substitute for fries. It's definitely worth the price! I gotta say that the cheeseburger was so so. It wasn't what I had expected being on a show like triple D. I was expecting wow and whoa! The burger is what you would expect from a dive in. I loved that you had an option for fried or raw onions. It should be like that from all burger joints. There wasn't much flavor in the burger. I honestly loved the fries more than the burger. I heard the buns were also supposed to be just amazing and fluffy. They were soft, but day or days old. They were soft to touch, but when eating them they were a bit chewy. This is my personal opinion, but I wouldn't come back. I loved the environment and looking at everything at the restaurant. Big ups to the server and he was so attentive! Too bad about the bland food though. Bummer, but worth the experience of a triple D place.

A must visit in Superior. Great mushroom Swiss burger and superb fresh cut French fries, crispy and hot. Anchor never disappoints! The place is classic, rife with Antiquities befitting any good flea market. Love the atmosphere and the wait staff. You won't be disappointed if your looking for a great sandwich and a cold drink.

Fantastic burgers! This place was amazing. Our cab driver told us this was one of the best burgers in Duluth so we had to try it out. My son and I both got burgers and fries and ate every single scrap of food they put in front of us. French fries were good not great but the meat, bread and quality of the preparation were all fantastic The only negative, small inconvenience, is that they only take cash and the ATM in the bar was busted. The extra few minutes was not even a problem.

Unique, lots of odds n ends, history, great food, fun games (pac man donkey Kong machine, slot machines), good music (digital jukebox), social atmosphere no reservations (seat yourself) and great pricing (menu price includes tax). Check out the photo of the back of the menu with helpful information to know. Fresh French fries. Building is small but worth the wait.

The burgers are so good we went there 2 days in a row! Meat is high quality. Fresh ingredients. 5-8 Club and Matt’s Bar in Minneapolis get beat by Anchor easily. Those WERE my favorite places, but not anymore. Here’s the deal, know what you’re getting before you walk in the place! Don’t be annoying and ask 100 questions. They have limited staff. Consider this before you go: 1. Staff answering the phone during busy times is not going to happen, so don’t be that jerk on here that wrote a bad review because of that. 2. Staff shouldn’t have to explain everything to you if you’re new to the place. Yes, they can but they’re busy, Ok! Use the website or these reviews and/or other sources. This is not 1826. There’s information available nowadays. 3. They don’t accept credit cards or checks! 4. This is a legit and wonderful dive bar. Relax your high horse (Edina/Beverly Hills) ways before you enter the place, so don’t expect people kissing your behind and attending to your every need, every second. 5. The place has limited but very nice staff. Be patient with them, they will get to you. 6. Seating is first come first serve. It’s on YOU to find a seat or table, NOT the bar staff!

Saw the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. You will NOT find better food at even twice the price. Family of three well fed at 23.50. My daughter watched a fresh potato become cut fries and go out on a plate in less than 5 minutes. You need to get the fries. I don't get to Superior often, but when I do, I'm going here.

THEE BEST PLACE AROUND FOR A DELICIOUS BURGER AND FRIES!!! Fresh meat daily, and homemade fries made right there. So glad we stopped in. The waitresses were so friendly, they all checked on us to see if we needed anything. Never had to wait for anything even though it was very busy. EXCELLENT SERVICE! And you can't beat the prices. Will definitely come back. ❤
