Oby's

Oby's in Starkville, Mississippi is praised by locals, but to a true Louisiana native, I do not share the same appreciation. This restaurant is decorated in vintage items, almost always has a line, and offers items with cajun undertones. Having gone twice, I have ordered a "spud" and some chicken item. Both times I had food poisoning. I do not mean to tear down the establishment; many of my friends and family who are from the area love it. I personally do not find the taste to fit the theme, nor do I find the prices to be suitable for the food. If you are unfamiliar with true Louisiana cuisine and want an intermediate between fast food and fine dining, then you might just love this place. Overall, I give it two stars.

Always a fantastic meal when we visit Obys. Catfish, chicken, salads, gumbo everything is good! As hard as our food industry workers are being worked we definitely could have gone without the server sweeping around our table and bumping our chairs essentially rushing us out near closing time. We are pleasant guests so we just ask for some pleasant treatment from staff next time we are out.
