Ichiban Buffet

Ichiban buffet offers a wide variety of foods including sushi, salad, chinese and build your own hibachi plate. There are also desserts and scoop-your-own ice cream. The service was prompt even during the busy weekend dinner service that we attended. I had a beer and water to drink, and my brother had sweet tea, which he said was excellent. The sushi selection I feel is the best part about this place. It was all very fresh, there were over 10 different rolls to choose from, and some of them were even deep fried! I would go back just for the sushi. The soup was also delicious, as were the peel-and-eat shrimp. As for the typical hot bar chinese offerings, it seemed mediocre to me. Nothing special to write home about. My brother had teriyaki steak from the hibachi bar (not featured) and he said it was delicious. The cost is quite low for the value! We both walked out very satisfied by Ichiban buffet.

Ichiban is quite simply the best hibachi and sushi buffet in the Jacksonville area! I'm consistently impressed by the variety and quality of sushi along with the freshness of their hibachi ingredients. The standard Chinese fare is usually good too. And of course they have a good selection of ice cream flavors for the kids!

The pricing was great, 3 adults and 1 child dinner buffet was under $50 (prior to tip). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because some of the food items appeared to be old and WAY overcooked (like the re-heated old leftovers. The fried shrimp for example were super dark brown and very dry from overcooking/possibly being old). There were some fried whole prawns labeled "salt & pepper shrimp that would have been AMAZING but they still had shells on under the batter! I had to peel them then pick off the breading to eat with the meat in order to taste the seasoning. They were fresh and yummy, but a lot of extra work. My kids enjoyed the crawfish and both ate at least 5 plates of them. I will definitely be back on future visit when we need a cheap and filling mea!

Food is always fresh when we go & well maintained. Their sushi section is always looking amazing and always tastes fresh. I love that they make it right in front of you. The hostesses are always nice & get you seated right away. For the most part the servers are good as well. Some are more on their game then others but that’s at any place, no biggie.

This place was unbelievably great. The Buffet in NY need to take some serious lessons from this place. Price was great. Food was excellent and SUPER.FRESH. One doesn't get watched while eating nor getting food. And nothing was greasy. I ate more at that buffet than I did in NY. They make you feel comfortable as well.

Had a nice variety of foods. Shrimps in several different cooking styles which included fried, steamed and peppered. Oysters, mussels and clams were also offered. As were ribs and mongolian beef. There were also cakes, desserts and ice cream. Sushi and create your own plate. The service was very good and so was the food.
