Cathay 22

Probably the top Chinese lunch spot in the Union County region, Cathay 22 always delivers with a generous hospitality, efficient service, and consistent food quality. Recently visited this eatery and enjoyed a few different dishes from the lunch special menu. Tasting both a fish in garlic spicy sauce and a beef and scallion dish proved enjoyable. The fish wasn’t spicy so be sure to ask them to adjust accordingly if you like it with a lot of heat. It was cooked nicely though. The beef dish was overloaded in onions and only a few scallions which was a bit of a let down. While cooked nicely the excess of onions didn’t serve the dish as well as it should. The soups, both egg drop and hot and sour were spot on and delicious. For price, service, and cleanliness, this is a great lunch stop.

We were staying at the Hilton Hotel and wanted to Chinese food carry out but were unsure of any places in the area. So we just pretty much Googled what we wanted and unfortunately this one popped up. We ordered food for about 3 people including a child who barely eats. I sent my friend to go pick it up using my debit card when suddenly I got a charge of over $90!! I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a joke until I realized it was this place. I called and asked them why it was so much but never got a straight answer. Plus the food was horrible. I guess prices "vary" in different areas. 😡😖
