Hidden gem in Spring! Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Easily trumps Alicia's and a really strong contender with Mama Juanita's. Great drinks, great food for the price, and exceptional service. Very unassuming ambiance but don't let first impressions fool you. Very rare to find a place here that serves fried whole tilapia but boy do they fry and season it soooo good! Glad I don't have to drive all the way to Mambo's for this now. Just two things.. Please don't serve this awesome fried tilapia with fries,just Spanish rice and Pico would be awesome. Also the flan was really good, if it's made with little to no egg whites then this flan would be fantastic!

We first visited this place as it was opening - almost 20 years ago. Have visited several other mexican food restaurants across the Houston area. Grew up in south Texas. This place is simply awesome. I have worked my way across the menu. You will not find a better selection with amazing quality. You will not be disappointed here. FOLLOW UP (11/01/23): Apparently this restaurant was sold. The quality of the food has dropped like a rock. This was a traumatic experience for us as this place was SOLID. Now the food is trash. I asked the people at the front about what happened to the quality, but they are all new and don't understand what I am asking. Now looking for another good Mexican food restaurant. SMH.

This restaurant has a very nice ambiance. The waiters are attentive and polite. There serving sizes are ENORMOUS! One really smart point is the QR menu on the wall. You don't have to touch a menu if you don't want; you simply QR the menu right on to your phone. The room is darker than I would have liked, and the walkways to the restrooms are very narrow. Overall, this place is quite charming.

I think this restaurant solidly sits in between "Decent Experience" and "Blew away by expectations". I typically order the same thing at any Mexican Restaurant I go to; A large Queso, mixed fajitas, and refried beans. The chips here were very good. They are thin and do not taste like the store bought variety. The queso has nothing added to it and has a liquidy, runny consistency. They do give plenty of pickled jalapenos with the bowl that pair nicely. I usually get mixed fajitas because it's always a guess as to if a restaurant makes tough steak or bland chicken. Here, the steak was not tough at all and had a good flavor. The chicken was served in thin strips, but were just not on the same level as the steak. Service is top notch. I was immediately seated within 2 minutes of entering the establishment, and my drink was topped off each time it has 1/4 left in the cup. By the way, these are served in big containers, so you don't run out as quickly as other restaurants. This is also a quieter establishment than the other big chain Mexican eateries. Much easier to hold a conversation in, and usually much better service as well. The experience is great, staff is friendly and responsive. If I could change anything, I would like to see a little more flavor and bigger pieces of chicken for the fajitas, and maybe some toppings or seasonings added to the queso. *Update June 1st, 2018* Went back today to try lunch special...I was not charged for small queso and jalapenos. Tried the California Burrito with queso, was very good! Great service again as usual.

Awesome place!! The service was SUPER. As soon as we sat down we got some chips and salsa, and were offered drinks. There was not just one person taking care of our table, almost every waiter was offering to refill our drinks and chips. The place is not big or crowded, which in my personal opinion ITS AMAZING! It actually feels like a home. Food was delicious! **UPDATE** We invited my parents-in-law this time and they LOVED IT TOO! They felt like home, found food delicious as well and the service, OUTSTANDING! The waiter even offered a bag and cup to-go for us to take our chips and salsa for later in the night. Totally recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some home style Mexican food 😃.
