Golden Corral

Food was way better than I expected. I've been here before, and it was nothing to brag about, but this time around, it seems they have stepped their game up. I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and mushrooms. The chicken skin wasn't bland as usual. The potatoes were actually hot, as was the corn. Went back for seconds, which consisted of fried shrimp and catfish. Both had a very good flavor to them, not fishy. Ice been to other GC locations, and I'd have to say this was the best. Overall, it was a great experience. My ONLY gripe would be maybe some kind of renovation. That's it. Otherwise, it was great.

The sirloin was the best part. The pot roast was just as good. The service is great. They asked us a few times if everything was good. They have lots of options for food and dessert. Fresh cuts of meat, home cooking, Cajun, Mexican, and American. Picked up our plates and even reprinted a receipt for me without a hassle. The place does need a makeover, though.

I was surprised at how big this location is. I really like that the seating is not all cramped like in other locations. The long buffet at the back is perfect to walk far enough away to see what is being served and not be in other patrons way. The signs above gave me a great way of knowing what to expect along the way. The staff was all very polite and helpful. Tables and dining areas all clean and ready for the next guest. All in all this lunch experience was wonderful with my super sweet husband, we made a great new find. We will definitely be back. Thanks!

This location should be the model for all other locations in Houston. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Lay out of the buffet is perfect. It's really easy to navigate and doesn't feel crowded when other customers are at the buffet at the same time. Selection and variety was much better than expected. Definitely will be visiting again.
