Carpo's

Carpo's has a large parking lot, however, be advised, that on a Friday night you may have to walk a couple of blocks to park on the street. That was how it was for us last Friday night. Carpo's is a great place to take a family with different eating needs. We went with a group of 5 including 2 vegetarians, some omnivores, and a very finicky child with a limited palate. Carpos worked well for our needs! We all walked away with smiles on our faces. They have a solid bar that I enjoyed going back to several times. It reminded me of salad bars from 50 years ago, however, since we were in Santa Cruz they even had yummy sunflower seed sprouts available at the salad bar. I also had a bowl of their clam chowder soup. Their sourdough bread was very fresh! My son-in-law and daughter were impressed with their Grilled Veggie Burger that happens to be Carpo's own recipe. It was huge--big enough to split and share! And it was only $8.50. We all enjoyed our dinners! I plan on coming here again!

Carpos in Soquel is known for the salad bar that people love. They also have the best chocolate milkshakes; they make them like they used to back in the day. They have a great menu to choose from. Daily specials are always good. My favorite are the chicken tenders, the fisherman’s basket, and the skewered shrimp with pasta and veggies. The food always tastes super fresh and is perfectly cooked. Must try if you're in Soquel.

Let's see... This is a restaurant that is just a little better than fast food. You stand in line, order, and pay at the register. They give you a beeper for when your order is ready and you have to go back up to the counter to pick it up. We went to the restaurant on May 19, 2022 at 5:10 pm. We placed our order. I selected "No Tip", because I will never give a tip BEFORE service is rendered. A tip is to reward good service. We sat at our table and the pager never beeped. People who ordered after us received their food, but not us. I was about to go up and ask, but an employee came out looking for us. Our pager was number 78. He chuckled and said "I guess I put in 18 by mistake." Our food was cold. We did not have time to wait for them to cook it again. Avoid this place, unless you want to give a big tip up front. Maybe then they will give good service.
