La Brasa

This was an A++ experience. The staff were so kind and the food was superb! We didn't realize we had stayed past closing but they didn't fret. We felt terrible but regardless, the ambience, flavors, and overall aura of excellence was truly memorable!! Our waitress was a gem and so kind to us. Plus she had really stylish rings. The halibut dish was PERFECTION.

Service was mediocre and the food was all over the place. Had the most disgusting guacamole I've ever tasted. Not sure what was in it. Looked like a pale green whipped sauce with chunks of tomato and onion but had way too much lime. It was all I could taste until my friend tried it and was convinced it had been somehow mixed with fish which then disturbed me even more. Maybe the extra lime was added to cover up the fish taste? We were told they would take $5 off our bill for the guac, but never saw it. Place was half empty when we were there (8 pm on a Saturday) but the service was really slow. Mixed drinks were okay - the bottled corona was great. No complaints about the entree from me (I had the halibut) but my friends were pretty unimpressed with theirs. Wouldn't recommend.

Great location for group gatherings but not ideal for casual meals. Got their Bavette steak with some tortillas on the side. The sauce was nicely reduced with red wine and the bitterness of the sauce along with some mushrooms reminded me of Coq au vin. However, the sauce would've been better if the steak was cooked at least medium (more concentrated beef flavor). The steak was cooked somewhere between medium rare and rare and it was rather difficult to cut and chew through. Overall a solid meal but not the best for the price.

Lemme just start by saying this place is a whole vibe!!!! Brittany F did an amazing job as our waitress. Maurice the man behind the amazing playlist truly creates an amazing chill atmosphere within the restaurant. Ordered the carne asada, the ribs, ceviche and elote and everything was phenomenal!!!! **** Came back a second time and had Mo B as our server. This place does not disappoint!!!!! Music was still a vibe. And food was just as amazing as the first night. You must check this place out!!!!

The $1 oyster deal drew us here. Oysters were good, but the rest of the dishes were only okay and overpriced. The potatoes could've been really good, but they were oversalted. The vegetarian tacos were not great and definitely not worth it at $5 each. Didn't try the drinks, but would consider coming back for a cocktail since the atmosphere is so nice. Service was also attentive and quick (though we felt slightly judged for not ordering more).
