Stateside

Located in the center of downtown, Stateside is a blend of elevated Vietnamese and American fare food. You will need to find street parking. And the outside is very much the city but inside is a stylish private eatery. This place fills up very quickly, so make sure you get those reservations. The food menu is short and sweet. But the quality of ingredients and the flavor profile from the small plates to the large plates is nothing short of amazing. A good riesling pairs nicely with most of the offerings. We ordered the mushroom springrolls, the crispy shrimp, ahi crudo, the chicken, and rockfish. Michael was our server. He was intuitive and really great at understanding what we were looking for. Professional and responsive, he helped pair the amazing food with amazing service. Midas 5-stars for a place worth UBering to for the food AND service.

from Canada and a friend who use to live in Seattle said Stateside was their favourite restaurant in Seattle. We gave it a try and loved everything. Duck rolls bc everyone said to and it did not disappoint. A cool little twist to the traditional fresh salad rolls. The seasoning on the ribs were delicious! They fell off the bone, so soft and tasty. Tuna crusto was yum and refreshing. The goat curry blew me away bc I don’t even like lamb or goat. It was a dish we ordered solely for my husband. I had a taste just to see. It was not gamy at all!! I ended up eating half of it as well. We save room for dessert but decided to go to salt and straw down the street bc we’ve never been. We were happy and so satisfied with our meal!!! Will come back again next time in Seattle.

We had never heard of this place, and it was booked because of an "Open Table" suggestion. I'm SO GLAD that it was suggested because YES, we loved it! Stateside is an absolute GEM. Delicious cocktails, outstanding smaller plates- spicy shrimp being one of the best prawn dishes that I have ever had. Incredible. They were crunchy on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside. You MUST order this dish! The fresh duck spring rolls were just as fantastic! We then had the Goat Curry as a main and were so glad that we did. It was phenomenal! Consistency of a pulled pork dish, but so much more flavorful and delicious! I can't wait for another excuse to visit. Make sure you have a reservation as the place filled up VERY fast after opening at 5p. By 5:30, the place was full of groups and couples about to experience something wonderful! Amazing place, and it's definitely a must visit when in Seattle.

5/19/19: Brunch at 1130, there was about a 45 minute wait for 2 people. Bar is open seating. Crispy duck rolls were good but a bit too much Thai basil and mint. Beef pot stickers were delicious. The beef was shredded which felt like the meat was melting in your mouth. The banh mi sandwiches were really big. The Classic and the breakfast. Both really good! My dining partner said the classic had some really good flavor but was really rich with the different meats. Cocktails were all great and very well balanced. Looking forward to dinner. Service was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable.
