Mike's Diner

My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood in October and we have been wanting to try Mike’s Diner. We did this morning and we ordered a to go order. My husband came home to tell me that 3 items cost us $31 dollars. I opened up the food. I had a breakfast sandwich, an omelette meal, and a side of corned beef hash. I called the diner to ask for a price breakdown to find that the Sandwich was $7.95, the side of corned beef hash was also $7.95, and the omelette meal was $11.95. All of this plus tax and oh wait they charge for each box on top of that… so as you can imagine I was irritated. The food wasn’t terrible, but the price to the portion that we got was sad. The food should have been exceptionally better for the price that we paid. We will not be eating at this diner again. We were very disappointed.

Mike's Diner was the BEST diner experience I have ever had. We entered, we were seated and while waiting for the rest of our party, out table settings were placed on the table with menus. Two others from our party were seated and the server took our drink order and brought the drinks immediately. She took our breakfast order and we had our food no longer than ten minutes. The food was hot and delicious. Our server was attentive and we left happy and full. My only criticism would be that it is a touch pricey (but that is true every where these days), and that the beverages, though the iced tea, served iced with lemon and perfectly brewed, was in a 6 ounce glass for $3. Free refills on those would be nice. All in all, this was a pleasant dining experience. The food was wonderful and our server was experienced and just the right amount of friendly. Next time, I will take pictures of the Belgium waffle with caramel and pecans and the sausage gravy over biscuits. 5 Stars ..

I love Mike's for the quality and selection. If you have kids, this place has great pancake options. If you're by yourself, you can have a booth as long as it's not the weekend. They make killer omelets with feta cheese, and the 'grilled' muffins are without equal! It's one of the only places around where you can get buckwheat pancakes. Only one complaint-- no real maple syrup.
