Tuscan Kitchen Rye

Absolutely fantastic dinner. Truly authentic Tuscan food. Unfussy and simply prepared with excellent ingredients. The staff looked after us impeccably and made an excellent wine recommendation. Unhurried and a pleasantly quirky surrounding to enjoy the wonderful meal. I can see why this place is frequently fully booked.

This gem of a restaurant sets the standard to which other Italian restaurants should aspire! The quality of the food alone earns this accolade (I had a beef steak with green pepper sauce that was simply the best accompanied by a super red wine recommended by the waiter) but add to this a wonderful ambience and friendly efficient staff (for whom apparently nothing is too much trouble) and you have a winning combination. Highly recommended!

Second visit to this popular eatery in lovely Rye, this time in a party of four. The food is delicious and the ambience cosy. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive and efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Just two niggles... Wine overpriced (like so many restaurants) and as a fish lover I'd really like to see more of it on the menu! Here is the fish /seafood stew with crispy veggies and herby sautéed potatoes 😋

We are food guru's and on our travels we like to eat at as many places as possible. We had to book a month in advance to get into this resturant we were welcomed by one of the owners and shown to our table. The menu offered a good choice the food was excellent both myself and my wife could not fault the preperation and presentation and as expected the food was excellent hence the fully booked sign on the door would recommend that you visit this establishment and book early to ensure a seat

Couldn’t have been more accommodating, and the quality (and quantity!) of the food was excellent, and great value for money. As a group of ten we chose a set menu, which included at least five courses of fantastic antipasti, pasta, meat and fish, and a lovely dessert - and the kitchen also accommodated a couple of picky eaters at the last minute. Gracious when we were the last out of an empty restaurant - can’t recommend highly enough!

This restaurant would quite frankly be stellar in Tuscany, and Tuscany is where Italians go to eat well. I write this from within a family with Tuscan roots. Do not come here looking for chain Italian food. Come here to enjoy the best, and maybe learn a thing or two about how it is actually done. We found this gem while on a short holiday and ended up eating here two nights in a row. Our only criticism is that we live too far away...

There is a significant wait to get a table at this restaurant, so plan weeks ahead. However you'll find it well worth the wait. This is a lovely family owned restaurant serving authentic and great Italian food. The menu is not extensive, but changes monthly so the food offered reflects the seasons and available produce at the time. But that doesn't mean what's on offer is limited. The food served here is simply delicious, hence the wait to get a table. The restaurant is old and quaint and the service is friendly and courteous. The food though is to die for. All in all this is a great Italian restaurant and the couple who own and run it do a fabulous job. Book well ahead and you won't be disappointed.

Jen and Franco are lovely hosts. The food is delicious, generous portions. Fantastic selection of wines. Great service. The restaurant is old and gorgeous. A relaxed leisurely lunch experience. This is not an 'Italian' restaurant. It's specific to the region of Tuscany. Quite rare to find this kind of cuisine outside of Tuscany. The Tuscan does it extremely well.
