Baldo's Restaurant

The food was cold, and our server was very slow. Had to ask Bus Boy for a refill on water, to check on our order. Ordered Chicken noodle soup and very lukewarm to almost cold. Sent it back and second cup was the same. They needs to check the soup warmer thermometer. Not sure if our server is new, but when I asked her about the specials, she didn't even know what they were or what comes with it. She should at least have a cheat sheet on her order book so she can tell about the specials and what they come with. I got the distinct impression that she didn't even wants to serve us. We asked her when she finally came by where our food was, especially when a family of 6 came in way after we gave our order and they ordered, and got their food about 15 mins before we did, and they ordered food that had to be baked in the oven. They had six different meals and we had one meal that we were splitting and that was the Chicken Diavalo. When asking her she said "Well we are very busy, and they do not do the foods in certain orders." Right there is the wrong statement to make, so what you are telling me that a party of 6 is more important than a party of 2. Not a warm fuzzy feeling. She came by to check on us twice and to bring us our bill. I drink lots of water but was unable to get a third refill on water because she was no where to be found. I will not be back.

Holy cow! This place was sooooo busy tonight with a full dining room and then 3 large, separate parties taking up all of the tables in the back. Like everywhere, this place isn't immune to staffing challenges. Dispite this, our service was still first class. Our waitress, April had all three LARGE parties in the back, in addition to our table of four. She didn't miss a beat and neither did the kitchen. Our food was perfect, on time and as ordered. It was amazing to watch our server move from person to person, table to table, multitasking along the way! She was calm, organized, with a polite smile. She made it look easy. Broasted chicken dinner.You get half a chicken it's tender,juicy without being greasy .Fries were golden brown perfectly done.Salad is on the smallish side of portions.They use chick peas in the salad which is great,not many places think to use these tasty morsels. Ribs use to be my go to here but,they went from a great home made sauce to a commercial sauce, which tastes like Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce which is just ok. I'd recommend they go back to homemade which made them unique.

We went here with our extended family in Michigan for dinner. The restaurant was busy and crowded at just after 6 PM. The 45 minutes estimated wait was about 20 minutes. The prices are reasonable and the food is old style American Italian. The combination pizza was excellent. My family had pasta and enjoyed it. Great side salads too. The portions are huge so most people take away a styrofoam box for what they can't eat. The wine selection is decent; we had a carafe of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. Service was OK but a bit slow for the drinks.
