The Swallows Nest

Much better than expected. I am not a fan of chain pubs (even relatively small chains) but the Swallow's Nest offered a varied breakfast/brunch menu, very good service and nice food - I had avocado on toast which included a portion of beetroot hummus. It was a dull day but there is an interesting view of Birmingham in the distance. Coffee was pretty good too.

The home made Sunday roast was very nice and tasty. Atmosphere and decoration of the pub was lovely. The service was good but I would say the Sunday roast came very quickly than we expected, straight after we had ordered. Even before our drinks arrived. This was disappointing. Free pudding when you sign up for the first time. Overall, we would go back again.

Had a really good time.. We had the fillet steak and it was delicious, so tender! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxing. A huge thank you to our waitress Lauren Moore who was so attentive and thoughtful, which made our visit even more pleasant. So to sum up, great food, great staff and would recommend for definite. We regularly visit the swallows nest as it's a beautifully decorated pub and always has great food and service. They have a great app too which you can scan to get free drinks/desserts/money off when you visit. They have a wide variety of choices on the food menu and nice drinks too (including good beer on tap). We love that it has a dog friendly bar area so we can bring our Frenchie along after a long walk. He loves to lie by the open fire while we enjoy a drink or two! They have recently renovated the outside space so there is plenty of outside seating with beautiful views over the fields. Would always recommend the swallows nest to friends and family who are looking for a pub with good food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent experience. This is the best pub meal I have had in a long time. From the moment you walk in you get a good feeling. The decor is really lovely. Comfortable and spotlessly clean. It feels like an expensive venue. The staff are warm and welcoming. Our waitress was brilliant. (I never tip, but, on this occasion I felt I had to for the excellent service received). The food was superb. I ordered medium rare steak and it was cooked perfectly and was so melt in the mouth. The chunky chips were just that - fluffy inside and crispy outside. The portion size was huge. I couldn't finish mine-though I tried! Dessert was just as good. Not the cheapest pub meal I have had lately but by far the best value for money meal I had lately. I will most certainly return. Well worth the money. My wife ordered a child's meal as she can't eat much. She loved the flavours and ate a little of it. The waitress took the meal off the bill - we didn't ask - as she said my wife hadn't eaten much even though my wife said it was lovely. I found that above and beyond any expectations I had. It would just never have crossed my mind. We. normally just expect to rightfully pay full price for the few mouthfuls my wife eats.

Popped in for an unplanned bite to eat with a friend. Although it was late on a Sunday afternoon, we still managed to be seated, and although there was a roast available, I decided to try the crispy duck salad. The grain and green salad was delicious, but the duck was far from crispy, which was slightly disappointing.
