Madison Pub

I’ve been to the adjacent restaurant The Madison and The Patio and thought it was wonderful. Class A service and food to match. Unfortunately, The Town Taven was a disappointment. I specially went to try something that was new on the menu. Lobster Mac n Cheese. It was literally a plate full of cheese. Very little lobster. Not a piece of bread with the meal. I also didn’t care for the service. Not overly professional as it was explained away on how it was made. Sorry.

Food was delicious but my Long Island ice tea was not good. The back where they use to have dining is closed. It is now used for banquets and when bands come in to play. You can still get a good meal in the front part which is like a pub setting. A bit pricey; my drink and a burger came out to 22 dollars.

Went at 4:45pm on a Friday. Tried to get a table in the dining room but were denied. Sat at a table in the bar. Good happy hour specials. Had the pot stickers, shrimp and pickles. All were fried. The bad thing was the shrimp and stickers had the same sauce, very disappointing. Drinks were ok, nothing special. Ordered a prime rib sandwich and meatloaf. Good portion sides but not impressed with flavors. Cost for 2 people $100. Not sure if we will be going back because of cost. Looked like regulars at the bar who were drunk and singing...entertaining??

We love this place and really missed it during the shut down. We went for dinner last night for their grand reopening and it was packed! The staff did a great job of handling the crowds after such a long break. It seems everyone was excited for the reopening! My husband and I both enjoyed the fried green tomatoes for an app but would suggest serving more of the crema or dressing on the side since they were a bit dry. I had the filet and really liked the fresh rosemary that scented and flavored the dish. I did not taste any horseradish in the demi-glace. The potatoes were flavorful but could have been a bit more crispy for my liking but that's a personal thing. The asparagus was perfect! My husband had the tuscan chicken pasta and we both agreed that it was delicious and we'd both order it again. We can't wait to go back to try more of the new menu items! We also look forward to expanded hours and outdoor seating in the courtyard. Great job Madison Pub! We're happy to have you back!!!!
