Mac Murphy's

They have a nice outside eating area, with plenty of nice staff, and good live music what seems to be every night. The food, however, needs some refinement. The staple of any Irish pub should be their shepherd's pie. It wasn't bad, but certainly wasn't worth $17. Watery, small, and a strong taste of beef seasoning. My wife got the steak, which was a good price, seasoned well, a nice cut off beef, but cooked beyond well (asked for med/well). It was actually charred. Then there's the nachos. Chips with a comically thick layer of cheese across the top. There was SO much cheese left on the plate. We had a nice chuckle. Anyway, the location, staff, and mucic all make for a nice night so we'll probably be back and just have burgers.

I don't know what happened on the night we dined there but it was as if all the stars were misaligned. The only good thing was the outdoor seating. The service was very slow, the food took forever and tasted like cardboard (sandwiches) and a hockey puck (burger), and the bill for three not great sandwiches and two beers was 100 dollars. Not what you expect for that amount of money. Quite a disappointing experience all around.

Amazing staff at this establishment. I can not thank them enough for being incredibly generous and helping out a random stranger in need. We were hosting a memorial celebration for my father in law a few blocks away and were desperate for last minute help the morning of due to some technical difficulties. I wish I remembered the names of all of the staff I spoke with but please know that you should all be recognized. Everyone should be here supporting a local business. We need more people in this world like the ones at this establishment. THANK YOU!

This is a true Ridgewood gem! An amazing bar with a rich history and an amazing atmosphere!! You will find generations of locals in and out of here all day everyday, enjoying the amazing food and drink specials!! I grew up coming in here and 30+years later it’s still one of my favourite spots!!! This is a family owned and run business and it shows by how close everyone is. The inside fireplace by the part is such a nice touch when the cold winter nights roll in and the outdoor sitting area is perfect for the rest of the year. Especially when they are holding one of their big events! If you live in town the benefit of being to easily walk here is so nice or for those coming in from the city by train or bus! I really can’t say enough about this place. Stop in and give a try once and you’ll be hooked!!!
