This was my first time at I Love Pho and it was amazing! The staff were really friendly and did not pressure us to order quickly. I ordered a Medium Sliced Beef Pho and I certainly did not leave hungry. The serving size was more than adequate and the pho itself was delicious. It was the perfect combination of a rich, wholesome broth, fresh, crunchy bean sprouts, juicy, thin slices of beef and a very careful helping of fresh chili. Overall, a terrific dining experience that was enhanced by the comfortable, homely feel of the interior. Will definitely be coming back to try out the other pho options!

Visited here for my first meal out after lockdown. I’d never been before and will admit it’s definitely not my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in the area, but it was a pretty pleasant experience. I ordered the spring roll bun cha which was super fresh and affordably priced and generous with the spring rolls. Service was quick and friendly. There aren’t many veg options so I’m not sure if I’d visit again but my meat eating friends seemed to enjoy themselves.

I made a booking but no there were no reserved tables for us. It was early so they just moved some tables together. Offering the same Vietnamese dishes as do most of their neighbours, we devoured generous portions of pho, vermicelli with spring rolls, broken rice and salad. The Spring Rolls and avocado smoothies were meals in themselves, so I felt like I'd eaten 2 and a half meals. Meanwhile all the other friends are walking around the block trying to make up for our gluttony.

Pretty much everything that can go wrong went wrong. Waited to get the menu, waitress did not say a word when we ordered pho and broken rice. Found short hair in rice, we only asked for the rice to be swapped as we didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Pho was below average, only positive thing was the large amount of basil given. Drinks finally came when we've finished our food. Sugarcane juice was so diluted could barely taste the sugarcane. Our bill should be $12 + $13 + $4 + $5 = $34, was charged $35, maybe because we paid by card? Not only was there no apology or discount for the hair in the rice we were overcharged $1. So disappointed as I don't often go to Victoria St and was craving some authentic pho.

I am a fan of good pho and my quest for finding good hos in Melbourne led me to this place. It was really busy when I went there. We were quickly seated on our table and were handed the menus. I have to say that the menu was really simple and easy to understand. It was not one of those which will confuse you by giving you 100s of options.
We ordered Pork spring rolls, Sliced chicken pho, and shredded chicken pho. You can order the pho in 3 sizes small, medium and large which will cost $12, $13 and $14 respectively. The large pho is really large and I loved it.

Let's talk about the spring rolls first. They were really crunchy on the outside and the meat was good inside. They came with lettuce and basil leaves. You wrap the spring rolls in the lettuce and add basil leaves in there and dip it in the fish sauce. It is just amazing. You should definitely try it out.

Now the Pho, It was really good, the flavor of the soup was nice and the noodles had a nice texture. But I think the soup lacked a little bit of richness. The sliced chicken in the bowl was with bone so it was really juicy and soft and had a very nice flavor.

I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to have a good pho, but at the same time I would say that a little bit of richness in the soup would take it to one of the best in Melbourne.

Nice place to grab pho at a reasonable price. Didn’t think the place lived up to its hype though. I ordered the beef combination pho and the broth was quite heavy - it was salty and oily. It was still a good fill though - the noodles had a good chew and a good amount of meat came with it.

Quite like I Love Pho because of its simplicity. The food is pretty good with the pho not bad. The spring rolls are nice and tasty and cater for vegetarians. Portion sizes pretty good and recommend you go for a large size as it's excellent value for money. Fresh and quick.
Prices are reasonable. They prefer cash over credit card, which many of the restaurants on this block do. ATM's aren't far away.
Kids welcome.Takeaway menu available. Dietaries catered for - to a point!
Wheelchair and disability friendly. Parking - well it’s just off Victoria Street - do your best as it can be challenging. I frequent the area a lot and it never crossed my mind to check out this place. Not one to order pho outside of home so I ordered something different - Saigon Beef Steak! It came out sizzling on a hot plate along with a fried egg, a bread roll and a salad. I actually quite enjoyed it. If you’re going to try it please don’t be expecting A grade steak like meat and wine Co style. For its price it’s pretty cheap and quite tasty. I also ordered an avocado smoothie. Instead of telling us there were no more avocados, they went out and bought some for us. Now that’s what you call service! Was pretty satisfied with my meal. No complaints.

Speedy and generous, taste okay, have had better.

After we managed to get out alive from IKEA Richmond, my [Asian] wife said she wanted pho for lunch, so we pulled up in Victoria Street Richmond and wandered down the street until we found a place that took our (ie her) fancy. We settled upon 'I Love Pho 264' because it was crowded and that was a sure sign that it was guaranteed to be good according to someone who shall remain nameless.

It was very busy for a Sunday lunch time but we were served very quickly and the food came out promptly. We ordered spring rolls, one Pho Tai (beef noodle) and one Pho Tai Gan (beef noodle with tendon). We had to ask for a small bowl of fresh chilli, which usually comes out by default. The chilli was barely cut into slices and what slices we had were way too thick. I like to eat small chunks of chilli with my meat when I have pho but these bits were way too big, something like half a chilli each in size. Not a big deal, but an annoyance nevertheless.

The spring rolls were standard and as good as I have had in any other place. The pho had plenty of meat, they were not stingy with that and the noodles themselves were nicely 'al dente', soft but a little firm. They were not flat noodles though, they were quite thick. I prefer the flat noodles, but that is preference and does not affect the taste. The meat itself was a little disappointing because while there was enough of it, the thickness was too great, meaning it tended to be chewy; this made it taste like a cheap cut of meat. It should have been thin and rare.

The pho prices (small $11, medium $12 and large $13) were more than I usually pay in my local area but not a great deal more. The complimentary tea thermos was unusual, it tasted as though it had pandan leaves brewing in with the Chinese tea leaves. I didn't think much of it because pandan is mostly associated with dessert dishes not Chinese tea.

Overall 'I Love Pho 264' was good but not enough to make me go back.

Amazing pho!!! I ordered the pho chay (pho with tofu and vegetables) in the small size and was just delicious. The size is still fairly large in my opinion and made me very full, but in the good way. The vegetables in the pho along with with the side of basil and beansprouts are all fresh and healthy. The tofu has a nice texture and flavour too (not too mushy and decent sizes).

All of my friends seemed to enjoy their dishes too. And the tea they served was amazing. Only downfall was the staff are a little rude and impatient, and the actual restaurant isn't exactly the cleanest.

But definitely recommend this place for some good pho.

My 2nd pho in Melbourne. I had traditional pho with special beef toppings. There were 3 servings, asked the server how big is the medium and she said (kinda rudely) “Enough for you..” I ended up leaving more than half of the noodle cause it was a bit too much (for me). She could have at least showed me the bowl.. well, but that lady server was kinda rude to everyone.

But the pho was great. I love the broth! Toppings were plenty, from sliced beef to intestine, all tasted really good. I asked for extra barleys and the other server (not the rude lady) gave me another plate of it.

It doesn’t have the normal chilly oil sauce though, the one it has was a nutty one (kind of sweet).

I will definitely revisit (and order the small serving) :).

Went to this place after work with a work friend and i must say, one of the worst places to have vietnamese food ever. the customer service was terrible (we had to ask for menus and he rolled his eyes when my friend asked for an extra plate for sauce), not only that, the food was also atrocious. i ordered a sliced beef pho, and the noodles were shorter than the beansprouts that were provided for the meal. Before we even ordered, the people on the table next to us wanted us to get up and change restaurants but we decided to give it a chance and till this moment we regret giving our $22 to this restaurant. I love their Pho; probably the best I've eaten among the limited various Pho restaurants I've been to in Melbourne. I visited here based on enthusiastic recommendation from my Vietnamese colleague and I figured it must be good. The taste is good, flavoursome and rich. I also like their chili oil, which complements the soup really well. The only reason I have given the rating 2.5 is due to the terrible and lacklustre service - a complete abomination. The waiter seated us at the table but did not give us the menu for a long time. We got his attention and he came over to take our order when, in fact, we don't even know what's on the menu yet! He gave an annoyed expression before handing us the menu and stood there expecting us to decide on our choices straightaway. Naturally, we felt pressured to give our order and had to ask him a fair few questions. He retorted in the most frustrated manner, which carried the assumption that we were meant to know the Vietnamese cuisine. So we waited for our food, feeling insulted and unwelcome for the next five minutes. Thankfully, the food was enough to make up for the absolute lack of warmth and service.

I do not love pho. I'd actually go so far as to say I loathe it so when a friend organised dinner here I was intending to eat other things off the menu eg rice paper rolls which fortunately they had. A cheap casual eat for sure but not really my scene. I lovvved the dipping sauces though. A yummy vibrant sauce with the spring rolls which were delicious wrapped in the fresh lettuce and a thicker sweeter one that was paired with the rice paper rolls which had yummy aromatic herbs in it. This is the type of Vietnamese food I enjoy eating

The thing I hate about Pho is the use of massive amounts of fish sauce and MSG. I usually get very thirsty after downing a bowl of Pho and it doesn't matter how many cups of water you drink, it does nothing to quench your thirst.
I was pleasantly surprised after downing a large bowl of Pho at I Love Pho on a cold Melbourne night that I didn't experience the effects of the dreaded MSG mouth! Didn't live up to expectations. Broth was so so, lacking depth but not bad. Portion size is good if you go large, but the beef needs to be sliced more consistently. Tip to owner: A meat slicer would make a world of difference.

We tried the broken rice meal with chicken, three color drink, pho with rare beef, and the veggie rice rolls. The pho was average for me (which is not necessarily a bad thing). It wasn't the best broth on Victoria Avenue, but not the blandest I've had. The broth was lightly seasoned and aromatic, but I found that I wanted more flavour so I put lots of chilli and sauces in. The chicken In the broken rice dish was nice and crispy, with a perfectly cooked egg. I was surprised at how good the veggie rice roll and sauce were. The shredded carrot added flavour and texture and made them seem more substantial. The service was quick and efficient.

We were heading to Pho Chu The for our pho fix on a cold and rainy Melbourne night when we noticed I Love Pho was packed with people! Thinking this must be a positive sign we decided to give it a go. Wouldn't eat here again..everything was really tiered and worn, ancient cutlery, very scruffy marked bowls and chop sticks, even the chair I was sitting on had split and foam bursting out. Sauce bottles on the table looked dirty, a fish tank on the counter that looked slimy. Everything I looked at was old and dirty looking which really put me of the food. In saying that, it is a cheap feed so I guess you're just getting what you pay for when you come here. Still the portion sizes are more generous at Pho Chu The, the venue cleaner and pho tastier. To top it off on paying the women at the counter tacked an extra $10 onto our bill. My partner handed over his card with no question it was only when I pulled her up on the overcharge that she quickly apologised and corrected the bill. We both left feeling that it was deliberate, wondering how many people they have tricked into overpaying. Disappointing.

Long time diner first time reviewer.
This is one of my favourite pho places. They started doing pho and spring rolls only, and now they also do broken rice and a couple of other dishes. Their pho always hits the spot. Piping hot, tasty soup base, full of flavours and comes with all the trimmings. One of few places where pho comes in three difference sizes. I personally find small is usually enough for me.
A good joint with clean and simple fixtures. Toward the end of the st near church street. Quite popular on a Sunday actually! But still able go get a table.

Service was quick. Perhaps too quick? Got 2 special pho which came with the lot. Didnt ask us what size so we automatically got a medium! Thankgod i was hungry!! Broth was good. Clear with plenty of meat like tribes, meatballs, slice beef etc. Very similar to any other you can get along the street though. $11-13 dependant on size.

Lil issue w service from the younger girl, no smile or acknowledgement. Asked for fresh chile and she gave us an empty table next door leftover one? Huh?

We also got the soda egg drink and an avacado smoothie. The smoothie was a whopping $5! And that was a major letdown. Full of sugar and way tooo watery. Did not taste the avacado esp for the $$$! Could have gone and got myself a bubble cup wahhh..

Would i go back? Perhaps not and try the others along the street... also its an extra 50cent using cards!! Whatever limit...

We are so disappointed with this place, which is ridiculous that the place earns 3.8 rating. The restaurant is dirty and the waitress is not friendly during the ordering and serving. The Saigon beef steak really ruined my day!!! It's the worst beef I have ever had, which tastes dry and hard like rock! The same type of grilled "rock" beef applied for the rice paper roll. Finally, the pho does not comfort me either. There are plenty of choices on Victoria St or other places, this restaurant does not worth 3.8 at all.

Cosy, unsophisticated environment with a family type setup. Decor and interior is simple but this is fine as we are here for the pho! We we're hungry and ordered the large now which resembled a small swimming pool😂 needless to say we didn't go home hungry. Pho was heart warming and flavorful. An array of these unimposing, traditional Vietnamese restaurants are available on Richmond Street and it is definitely worth th short bus ride out of central Melbourne in order to get a taste for the local experience. 29 December 2016: A master chef took me to this place for a second time. We had beef pho and spring rolls. We asked for the raw beef slices to be served to us on a plate separately from the bowl of broth. This way our beef wouldn't be over-cooked. The mint leaves were fresh and clean, so were the bean sprouts. Everything was done to perfection. And the iced Vietnamese coffee was outstanding.

When there’s seemingly dozens of restaurants serving the same dish in the same street, in one of the most Vietnamese-populated communities in Melbourne, you really gotta have something going for it to be consistently busy. I Love Pho brings one of the best pho games around with great pricing, consistent quality and the freshest of ingredients that keeps these crowds lingering. Victoria Street is no doubt dense in eating options and I do rate I Love Pho amongst the best in the area.

My cousin told me this is the best pho place in Richmond, so i had to see whether it was true or not. Not surprisingly, this place seems to get packed out every night.

Coming here at 6pm, I felt this place looked familiar as they had the old restaurant sign boards and same style pho (couldn't remember the old restaurant name unfortunately). I guess the decor is a bit more modern, thrown in with some happy photo snaps along the wall, and an upgrade in furniture and tables. We ordered one beef combo pho that my cousin loves and I had the pho with ox tail. Unfortunately it came with only one ox tail and that was tough to chew. The rest of the pho was nice, the pho, stock, beef, and the bean shoots and basil leaves that came as condiments. It tasted like most other phos I had though. Nothing that made me have the same feeling as my cousin about this place.

We also had the Vietnamese spring rolls, but these were 5 large spring rolls, not the 10 small mini ones I'm used to eating in authentic Vietnamese restaurants. And they were bloody hot on the inside! I couldn't speak for 30 seconds as it was must have been left in the oven for ages or something! The beef salad was very nice, although I always wonder why Vietnamese restaurants put the old Chinese pink snacks around the side of it. We also ordered a longan drink and an avocado smoothie, which they forgot, and had to remind them, and they brought it out about 20 minutes later.

All up, an okay place to eat at, although the noise as it gets busy means you'll have to raise your voice to chat with your mates. Service was ok, they don't really say much, except for "yes" and "okay", and bring the food out. Plenty of other yummy looking Vietnamese (and now heaps more Korean) restaurants to try out along Victoria St. Don't get caught up in all the hype and the hustle and bustle of the place. You can find more authentic pho and Vietnamese dishes by trying those not as busy. To each their own. For my cousin, he'd give it 10/10 but for me, somewhere between 6.5 and 7.0.

We were looking at the menu deciding what to order and this guy was being really impatient with us, started to give me an attitude after I asked him to come back to us later nicely. I heard him whispered angrily which totally ruined my mood for the whole night! Then he even walked back and kept staring at me like I have killed someone and that made me feeling so uncomfortable! I understand that you can have a bad day but that is just totally unprofessional to have done that to a customer. Overall, I feel really disappointed and it is as horrible as it sounds.

Not the best pho I've had, not the worst. I got the beef pho. The broth was a bit too heavy, strong, and quite oily. The beef was quite stringy and you really didn't get as much as other places. One bowl of garnish between three people as well...that's not enough!! I like lots of lime and bean shoots. The place was packed and noisy which is to be expected, I didn't mind. I'd go again if I was in the area but there are much better places in Springvale and in the CBD. Pho, regardless of how you chose to pronounce this, is one of those addictive dish that I can’t seem to get enough off. There are a couple Vietnamese eateries in Auckland that I swear by, but I’m always looking for new places to try. In a Melbourne suburb dominated by Vietnamese eateries, I Love Pho stood out as one of the busiest. Yet, like plenty of restaurants owned by Asians, it’s one of those no thrills, eat then get out type of places, so tables are readily available.

Jam packed at lunch time is always a good sign. I love pho delivers to all pho lovers. A few at the table ordered the Saigon beef steak dish for $17, while not as cheap as your usual pho dish it's actually great value for a plate of tender juicy steak, a plate of salad and a small crusty roll which you can fill yourself. Kind of like making your own banh mi with all the condiments on the table. I opted for a medium beef pho which was delicious. I felt that perhaps there were less noodles than I normally get in Footscray pho spots however I was still left feeling full. The Saigon beef steak was really excellent if you don't feel like pho.

Our favourite pho joint in Melbourne hands down. My favourite is the beef and brisket noodle soup. The broth is so flavoursome and the garnish fresh. The missus loves having vermicelli instead of noodles in her pho and surprisingly not all pho place does this!

What's not to love? The pho is good, darn good. The chicken pho broth is clean and sweet and the beef has good favour and remains light and not too salty.
In all honesty it's rare I find bad pho on Victòria Street so it's hard to set I Love Pho apart, but it's certainly a place I got back to regularly.

We went based on an online review published on Broadsheet.com.
We found a whole cockroach in the chicken pho. The waitress just looked at it and brought us a new bowl. Maybe this happens alot since she was totally unphased. Go to Pho Chu The a few doors down. Their pho is much tastier. I've never seen anything like that in any other pho soup I've eaten.

To be honest, we came with high expectations after reading the reviews on zomato, but we were sorely disappointed. They did serve large portion of pho for a very affordable price but taste-wise, it wasn't mind-blowing. We have tasted better. But that was still fine with us and we enjoyed our meal, until it was time to pay. Service was bad, wait staff looked like she was having a bad day, and the cashier was chaotic. When i asked whether i could pay by card, she just took my card, went off to the employer (i presume), and conducted VISA paywave, only then told me that there's an additional 50 cents charges for using card - AFTER SHE HAD PERFORMED THE TRANSACTION! It's not that we are petty about the extra 50 cents but we felt rather cheated, as not only she did not inform us of the extra surcharge, she did not let us check the amount of our meal, and only informed me after I asked about the extra charges.I swear we had a pleasant time during our meal but that was such an awful aftertaste. We even decided that we will never return to this place again.

Pho is common in Melbourne and you can get in most suburbs. Simply put, this is the best chicken Pho you will get in Melbourne. Standard price of about 10-11 dollars but you get plenty of chicken. The best part is the broth is not too salty. A big plus is also that it's a very clean restaurant which can't be said about other Pho restaurants.

Only (very small) negative is that it can occasionally take some time to pay for your meal. As the lady behind the counter is taking phone orders and collecting cash from customers at the same time.

Just a tip....you can get a tram or park down the back streets. This part of Victoria can get a bit sketchy so if dodgy people make you nervous come for lunch rather than dinner.

Service √
Ambience √
Food √ Very Yummy, but no wow factor today.
Price √ Very reasonable.

We had the Pho and spring rolls.

The soup was very tasty. The meat was nice. The homemade satay sauce added nice spice and flavour.

For me the spring rolls were perfect, but not everyone on our table agreed. For me the taste, texture, size, dipping sauces and the lettuce were exactly how i like them. Cooked perfectly too.

Overall we enjoyed this lovely, lively Pho restaurant. The staff obviously love their Pho (and so they should!).

Pho is like a drug, which can often produce a mild eu-PHO-ria (it really can). It didn't quite do that today, but it did hit the spot nonetheless.

(On our table was one home Pho chef, and another born/raised in Vietnam).

This is one of the gems of the "Little Vietnam" food precinct on Victoria Street. I tend to prefer the Shredded Chicken Pho. The taste is delicate, the aroma amazing, especially after adding the basil and sprouts. My only criticism would be the basil and sprouts should fresh and vibrant and not slightly wilted. The soup is delicate and delicious and would really be something truly special if these ingredients were of the same standard.

All things considered though, this is one of my favourite places to eat on Victoria St.

Every time my friends want pho they insist on coming here. I don't really get it, but maybe I'm just not that into pho! Last night I couldn't get enough though, I ordered the medium bowl tofu & vegetable ($11). It has a different broth to the meat versions, much lighter and less salty but still very flavourful! My bowl was almost overflowing with fresh veggies, which were delicious. I'm a pretty good eater and was hungry when I arrived, but I left the bowl still half full of noodles and soup... So full but didn't want stop! Very good value.

So far, this is the best pho that I hv ever tried. It's located at Richmond, just a couple minutes of walk from the tram stop. From the front of the restaurant, you can smell a good fragrant of their soup broth. The soup broth was very nice & rich in flavour. And the meet was thinly sliced & easy to be eaten. Their veggie & bean sprouts were fresh. Try to eat it with their authenthic chilli & veggies, squezze it with a bit of lemon too. You are going to hv an excellent combination. Worth to try this!

I have been coming to this place for many years and kept returning because I love the friendliness of the owners and their ability to communicate in English.

However, last Sunday when we took a friend there, we were served bowls of pho minus half the normal beef slices and with much less noodles (for the normal medium sizes we usually order) and they had run out of sweet basil for the garnishes, which they told us when the plates of beanshoots came out minus basil. Very disappointed that no one in the kitchen (or the owners who were walking around) didn't have the presence of mind to at least tell their customers that they are running short or are out of some ingredients and perhaps make up for the lack of say beef slices with more chicken pieces? Not rocket science! We felt really short changed, especially when for the last few times we have been, their prices have actually increased twice. I hope this is not the start of this business taking the downhill road of charging more for less and for reduced quality.

We have found a really nice pho shop in Springvale that friends recommended, so another bad experience will make us rethink that it is maybe time to take our custom elsewhere.

If you are driving (like I was) and can’t be at the Bar this is the next best thing. What’s Asian food without some fresh coconut? I’m a bit of a coconut addict, I routinely buy them from the supermarket and make my housemates mad by taking up all the fridge space and banging them open in the morning (sorry guys!). This coconut was obviously fresher than what I get off Coles shelves and really balanced out the saltiness in most of the dishes I had had. Again I got this both nights because it was that yummy.

I Love Pho 264 is one of the best known pho places in Melbourne, located in Richmond on Victoria St just past Church St and easily accessible by trams 12, 78, 79 and 109. It's a family owned business that prides itself using the freshest ingredients and making its pho 'one to beat'. I Love Pho is opened 7 days a week, from 9am - 1030pm. The interior design of the restaurant is quite simple, the walls are mostly decorated with the menu and specials, as well as photos of the staff with customers. It's really brightly lit, and the place is always filled with customers, giving the whole place a warm and lively atmosphere for a relaxing dining experience. I did find it slightly confusing that the menu didn't have prices on it, just the items, and after looking at the signs on the walls, realised written in a small sign was that all pho dishes come in three sizes; small ($8.50), medium ($9.50) or large ($10.50). The pho dishes are mostly beef, and you can choose from a range of

Decent value. Shared a chicken Pho with my wife on a Sunday afternoon. I've had three Pho's in my life. A shocker in Footscray, an amazing one in Preston (Victoria) so this one would rank in the middle. Good but not stunning. The broth wasn't full of amazing depth like the one I had in Preston. Size wise though it's certainly the largest I've had and could easily shared between two people.

It may not be the best in the world or compared to Sydney where you pay double but for me, $8.50 for a bowl of delight with consistently tasty broth is worth it. Quick service, you can even say hi to Nanna who is there most days being her quiet little charming self at a back table. I back this family restaurant in all the way. They make me feel like I belong. Terrible rice paper rolls. Ate here just recently & ordered rice paper rolls & they were the worst I've ever had. There were no herbs & simply no flavour. My brother had a pho which had nice broth, but there weren't enough vegies. We haven't had pho before but from what I've seen & heard, it's supposed to be a nice balance of well flavoured stock, thinly slice meats & heaps of vegies & herbs. They got the well flavoured stock right, but the meat was just great big chewy, gristly chunks of something. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The service is appalling; I appreciate that they were busy, but to be sat at a dirty uncleared table is unforgivable, especially after having taken our order. In fact there was a thermos of tea left even after the table was finally cleared, & they simply brought 3 tea cups for us but no fresh thermos of tea...seriously WT?! And RUDE??? Crikey these people make "Faulty Towers" look like silver service. I was so appalled, normally I would've walked, but I had 2 starving people with me who'd been working hard for hours in the rain, & without a break for almost 5hours. They might be busy now, but there's so much competition in Richmond, that people will eventually move on when they realize there's better food out there, with MUCH better service & in a cleaner setting.

Not the best pho, but still a good feed!. This pho is actually quite mild tasting compared to ever popular PHO AN in sydney which is probably a lot more herby in flavour. I like how you can choose 3 diff sizes here, small, medium and large. The beef is sliced too thickly for my liking, and is slightly more cooked that what i prefer, the chicken shreds however is beautifully tender, the broth is very natural tasting and i liked the smooth texture of the noodles. The place though is super busy, spring rolls are not bad, crunchy and satisfying. I believe this is a matter of personal preference, so you'd probably need to give it a go to make up your own mind.

Great marketing. Pho was unauthentic and stock lacked the sweetness of beef broth. Had to bite strategically to avoid fat on the beef. Mama Pho packet was more enjoyable. Also the actual pho noodles were hard like wholemeal spaghetti.

AVOID!!!!. Poor service, desperate promotion, not to mention the less than mediocre pho, but the WORST thing was how DIRTY the place was, I had to send back my cup not once, but TWICE because it had left over tea leaves and lipstick stains. Also their lettuce plate had brown bean sprouts and the ice-burg lettuce contained a some sort of green larvae!!!...its like this place is serving petri bowls and plates of salmonella.... AVOID!!

If you have ever been to Victoria St in Richmond, you will notice there is an abundance of choice for Vietnamese food. Pho is probably the most well known and popular choice for a lot of people when having Vietnamese dining. It's not my first time at I ♥ Pho, as it's D's parent's favourite Pho shop on Victoria Street. So when work suggested pho for lunch we naturally gravitated towards it. I got the fresh beef and beef ball. My colleague A went with the beef special and S went with chicken special noodle soup. I am not a fan or spring onions so my bowl did not look as colourful as the other 2. When I started eatting, I was disappointed, the soup was not hot enough and the beef was just not fresh. I use to love coming here but it just felt like it's gone downhill. The soup was not as fragrant as it use to be and more just like bland MSG chicken broth. It was just an average bowl of beef soup noodle. As A was eating his beef special, he mentioned that he was of the same opnion about

Cheap and cheerful. This was my first pho experience so I'm far from an expert. On my visit I found the spring rolls and vegetable and tofu pho cheap, filling, fresh and tasty. The service was haphazard (ordered veggie spring rolls but got pork and prawn. When we asked to swap we got 2 veggie and 4 pork and just made do) but we didn't feel rushed to get out despite paying less than $15 each for more than I could eat.

I don't love pho 264... But did. Used to frequent when this cheap and cheerful pho place opened, but in the past year the soup has been inconsistent and not as tasty. The beef (I usually order the special need combination soup) is now thin and fatty and ruins the soup. The spring rolls are average. The service staff are polite but have on two occasions, forgotten out order.

The tank is filthy, has no lighting, no plants, no room and a giant floating rock on the top that stops it from stretching out and has to struggle to get air properly. I have to admit, I have been quite spoilt with my various Pho experiences, having lived so close to Springvale and having access to LEGITIMATELY delicious and authentic pho. However, I'm not fussy, and rarely post reviews...BUT I LOVE PHO SUCKS! They clearly do not love pho, or they would put more effort into their meals. To start, there are no prices on the menus. I ordered a sliced beef pho, and as the waiter didn't ask which size, I assumed it was all the one size. When the bowl eventualy came out, it was the largest (and most expensive approx $13!!!) size, the broth was bland, the beef was terrible quality - chewy and grey and i had to ask specifically for a soup spoon as there were none left at our (filthy) table. My boyfriend ordered the beefsteak on the sizzling plate, medium rare. It came out, as you'd expect, over cooked, sinewy and chewy as an old boot, the bread roll and salad were pretty ace though. Although they have NO idea how to cook meat, the pork and prawn rice paper rolls were delicious.
I would definitely discourage people from going here, unless it was your first pho experience (which seemed to be the case with 95% of the clientele being 20-25yr old Caucasian males) and I would advise you to take you pho-escapades elsewhere.

Pretty good pho. So I'd say I Love Pho is pretty good, not great, pho. Pho is pretty much all they do, save for a few other small entree things. I thought the pho was pretty flavoursome and a good size, although I would tend to agree that maybe there was MSG in it as my mouth was pretty dry afterwards. If you're coming here expecting silver service then think again, it's all pretty functional. But I liked that aspect of it.

There is a bit of hype here and the facebook is filled with pictures of young attractive people of various demographics... but is the food good? Firstly, it is usually packed - really packed across both levels and there is a constantly flow of people. The clientale is a mix of demographics and they clearly have broad appeal. How does a restaurant do so well on Phở in a street of Phở restaurants? The Phở here is pretty good with a good soup base, really fresh ingredients and a wide range of combinations. Some who are used to the sweeter more MSG enhanced soup might not be used to the offerings here. However, it is really quite authentic and you can add various condiments to your liking.

Overall, the food was reasonably priced with generous serving sizes. The broth, the tripes and beefballs were flavoursome and did not have a strong aftertaste of MSG. Surprisingly, the highlight for me was the springrolls rather than the pho. Despite the springrolls being a little overpriced in my opinion, they were fried to perfection - crispy but not oily - and the ingredients tasted fresh.

Located in the cultural hub of Victoria Street, Richmond, I Love Pho 264 boasts some of the best Vietnamese rice noodle soup in Melbourne. A simple restaurant, the only item on the menu is pho, pho and more pho. Oh and some spring rolls and rice paper rolls of course. Although the menu is limited, the pho is delicious. The choices range from chicken and beef combination pho, to ox tail and even chicken giblets, heart and liver, for the more adventurous pho lover. The pho at this place is so good that people are practically fighting over tables. When I arrived at 6.30pm on a weekday, the occupancy was really picking up. Perhaps it is because parking is free on Victoria street after this time. And to top off the excellence of this eatery, a large bowl of pho with a generous amount of meat is less than $15. Bargain. I Love Pho 264 is open from 9am until 10pm seven days a week. The delicious chicken & beef combo pho at I Love Pho 264

Microwaving makes no sense.. To say that they microwave all their Pho makes no sense at all. When they serve the Pho they bring out sometimes 3-4 bowls at a time. To microwave a bowl of soup would take at least 90 seconds. That is an extra 4-5 minutes extra on waiting time. They can service up to 50 people at once that is an extra 1 hour in service. Microwaves are not that fast. Gas would be faster. It would be faster pre heating the bowls and having hot soup on demand. Worked, lived hospitality and owned cafes for the 35 years. I've run one of the first Ramen Bar in Melbourne. Microwaving noodle soup sounds like a lot of work!!! A huge pot of hot water sounds a lot faster. If you can do a better job, set up your own place. Hope you get reviewed by people like yourself.

Let's put this out here first, I'm full Viet. Okay time for the review. The pho here is great.

The pho came out very fast and hot. Not just the noodles but also the bowl, which means the bowl of pho was microwaved. My hypothesis is that the noodle and meat was microwaved and the soup added in later, keeping the pho hot, not warm, due to the noodles and meat being somewhat equally hot to the soup.
Which is not a bad thing, just... microwave.

On to another minor flaw, the rice noodle had another taste to it, the oily noodle smell which you get out of the bag, meaning it wasn't cleaned properly. On the upside the rice noodle was firm, it didn't break up in the soup, which was great! I've eaten at many pho restaurants and I have encountered many weak soggy noodles.

The soup was fine, I only added some lemon to the soup because of my personal preference.

All in all, the pho here was great.

Vietnamese prawn cracker taco’s by I Love Pho 246. Pretty much a Vietnamese salad on a prawn cracker, my favorite kind of salad. Refreshing, healthy and crisp. The juicy dressing added a hit of flavour, leaving my mouth watering for more. They had pretty good spring rolls, rice paper rolls and deep fried calamari too.

Disgusting. The place is dingy and dirty looking, diners are seated on-top of one another, the crockery smelt of bleach. The tea was tasteless. The entrees were not good value - did not bother to stay for the soup.

My pho was great today. It was a little salty but yummy. What's even better was the onion that I got with it. For the past few weeks in the city I didn't so I had been craving a good pho with lots and lots of onion.
And there was also lots of yummy beef and tripe in pho. I love tripe which is not too chewy. Now I recommend thee to visit this lovely place which is about 15 mins by tram.

Wonderful pho and rice paper rolls but be prepared to be pushed out!. I have eaten pho at a number of places and I must say the beef pho at I Love Pho is one of the best in Melbourne. I also enjoyed their fresh pork and prawn rice paper rolls. I must say I don't expect much when I go to a cheap restaurant but it was very annoying to be constantly harassed about ordering (when we had just arrived and were saying our hellos) and observed throughout our meal to see how much food we had left! Well worth the visit for a good dose of cheap pho though.

Far from loving our experience we were left to wonder where it all went wrong. Not only did the restaurant produce sub par pho, they also effectively spit in the face of the Communist ideology that Vietnam fought so hard for. I love Pho has sold out, and sold out hard. The owners are far more concerned about feeding their cash-cow than making good, wholesome, tasty soup. They whisk you in as quick as they can, and the second your spoon has hit the table, they whisk you out again.
Love it! Fresh filling food with all the right condiments. Very kind to the wallet - great place for a cheap meal that still leaves you feeling like youve treated yourself. No frills efficient service but we never felt rushed at any stage like you do get in other high turnover places. Service may be basic but is not unfriendly, all our annoying questions answered & all our requests granted. Really all you could want as an excellent dining canvas on which to paint your experience, whether cozy dinner for 2 or big messy friend's catch-up, against a background of fresh, filling, flavoursome &, best of all, interactive food!

When people ask me where is the best place for Pho Noodles, I immediately answer, without any hesitation, I Love Pho 264! Well, it used to be Pho Tu Te, but due to it's popularity they have moved a few doors down to a much more modern and bigger space. Glad to say that's the only thing that has changed as their Pho noodles is just the way I remembered them when I first had a bowl over 5 years ago.

Unfancy, but filling.. I missed the boat on Pho. It has been the coolest thing amongst the Indies, Hippies, trendsetters and anyone under the banner of “faux impoverished” for the last year. Mind you, I had never realised it as an option at any of the Vietnamese restaurants I’ve visited over the last dozen years, and neither had they. Pho has, as it turns out, been around for almost a hundred years – we’ve only been mispronouncing it in Melbourne as the great feeder of the masses since last football season.
I’m not naive enough to think that ILP 264 is the 263rd sequel to the original, but I’m sure it’s the sequel to something. It has the esteem of a pop up dining hall, yet the scars of a journeyman restaurant. If there’s music you can’t hear it and service ranges from “are you ready to order” (in fewer words, with less syntactic fashion) to... well, that’s it.
There are no menus, only a sign on the well describing the innards of various animals. There are handwritten notes advertising specials which I sense aren’t as short-lived as the advertising medium suggests.
But... it’s a fascinating concept, done very affordably. Essentially you’re eating a chicken soup that is infusing as you eat. Each mouthful has more flavour than the last and by the time you’ve finished the clear broth that once looked like Evian now resembles the warm, hearty ochre of a distilled stock.
This is single-serve dining en masse. If something is not spicy enough, add chilli. If you can find soy sauce, add that too. There are bean shoots and mint to garnish or flavour, but otherwise you’re on your own. If you haven’t splashed at least 30ml on yourself, you’re not doing it properly and if you’re not full you may be best seeking gainful employment as landfill.

The broth is packed full of a flavour that you expect from a good pho, and as you swirl the sliced beef you see it turn from pink to brown as it cooks through. Combine that with a coconut juice or three-color drink and that right there will be the best $12 (or so) that you’ll spend all week.

he broth was served warm, not as hot as we would have liked. Still, very passable. I made a concoction of complimentary chilli and hoi sin sauce to add some extra kick. Wasn’t necessary but I like to add sauce anyway. A shared plate of lemon, basil and bean shoots was provided. A few handfuls of them were thrown into the bowl too. I tried each of these (all the same but the meat) – they were all delicious.

Nice Pho. I've been a regular of this place before they moved to 264. What I can assure you is that they have been producing good pho and well consistently especially when you pay your meal for under $10. I can understand that some people might find this place lack of service and consistency of their pho but for a busy place like this.........these problems can occur sometimes. Lets face it and be more understanding or at least give them another go. With that said, you might change your mind and get back to edit your previous negative reviews.
To conclude, I'm not a friend of theirs so I have nothing to do with them. Just tell a frank opinion to you all about this place and all other busy places. This pho shop is worth trying. If you could go during the day or before 7pm. I guarantee you will get things right. Great piublicity but perhaps overrated. The owners should be congratulated for the successful facelift to the business which gives it a much more modern and hygienic feel about the place. The quality of the pho however, does not match up to their counterparts along Victoria street. The soup was very blend and the pho was overcooked (too mooshy) and fragmented/broken (as opposed to nice long strands). Good alternative for those who may be less adventurous but I personally still prefer the more authentic and rustic version of the dish in the perhaps less refined pho joints few doors up such as Pho Dzung.

They loved Pho so much they changed the name of the restaurant to I Love Pho! The queue is well out of the door but there is no need to worry they will soon have you seated at a table and served in super quick time! The combination of the Vietnamese and French influences of Hanoi saw the first Pho restaurant open in 1920′s (thanks Wikipedia for the trivia!) and Victoria Street is the Melbourne home to this wholesome dish (or so I am told!). I Love Pho has no airs and graces, this is lunchtime, it's manic and their turnover of tables must be legendary! As fast as we are seated there are more people queuing and people leaving with full bellies. The staff fly gracefully around with trays full of massive pho bowls steaming away - they must weight a fair bit! The choices are relatively simple, I am a shredded chicken girl, it's the safe option but it is sooooo good. You can also explore beef, cartilage, tendon, fat or tripe! There are also rice paper and spring rolls now available. Packed
